Platinum silicone lubricant - lubricant discontinued by Wet Lubricants - review by Jenna.J.Ross

Wet Platinum Body Glide was my first experience with silicone based lubricant. Silicone based lubricant is water resistant which makes it ideal for use in the shower or tub. It can be used with pretty much any toy made from materials that are not silicone based. This lubricant is designed to be long lasting and stay slick for even your longest play session. It can be used with latex based products, such as condoms, but can be difficult to clean off yourself and anything else it may transfer to so take care not to spill. Silicone lubricant is ideal for those with sensitive skin since its hypoallergenic. Can be used for both vaginal and anal penetration. It is glycerin free so if you're sensitive to yeast infections this lubricant is ideal. With moisturizing ingredients (Tocopheryl Acetate also known as Vitamin E Acetate), Wet Platinum lubricant can be used for massages or as a skin conditioner. It goes on silky and doesn't turn tacky or sticky even after vigorous use. Silicone based lubricants are not designed to be digestible. For this reason I would suggest avoiding using this lubricant for oral sex. I would recommend this lubricant to anyone looking for a long lasting non-drying lubricant.

Wet International Platinum Body Glide Lubricant has a very silky feel to it. While not excessively thick, like a gel is, when I applied it to my body it stayed where I wanted it to. I had no problem dispensing this product from the simple flip cap. All it took was flipping the bottle upside down and the lubricant flowed right out in a steady stream. I found this lubricant to be very slippery and it didn't leave behind any greasy residue. The silkiness feels great when this product is used for massages. Weather you're using this for solo play or with a partner, the silky slickness is sure to leave you feeling sexy all over.

When I first used this lube, for toy play, I did not notice any smell. When I unscrewed the top and stuck my nose near the top of the bottle I detected a faint plasticity scent which reminded me slightly of the scent of glue. Like I said I had to put my nose in the bottle to detect this scent. I would not have noticed how it smelled otherwise. When licking and kissing my partner after a sexy rub down I found there was no taste from the lubricant. Silicone based lubricants are generally not designed to be used as an oral enhancer as they contain ingredients that may be difficult for your body to digest in large quantities.

Wet's Platinum Body Glide has fast become one of my favorite lubricants to use. When used vaginally I found i stayed slick and wet for much longer then when I have used water based lubricants. This silicone based lubricant worked fantastic with all of my plastic jelly and rubber based toys. When I used this product for vaginal intercourse both me and my partner commented on how great the silky texture felt. I also tend to dry out rather quickly during sex and have found that water based lubricants just don't seem to hold up for me. Not with this lubricant, it stayed nice and slick for our whole session and then some. For someone who is used to having to stop mid-session over and over again to reapply lubricant, the long-staying power of this silicone product is fantastic. I also tend to be very sensitive to irritation from lubricants and found that this lubricant did not cause any irritation. A little bit goes a long way with this type of lubricant. Clean up after we'd played to our hearts' content was a breeze. A warm wash cloth and a little bit of soap and it comes right off. I also spilled some on my dry clean only top and damp paper towel cleaned it right up!

The Bottle of Wet Platinum Glide I own is tall and black with silver, white, and red writing on it. The bottle is designed with nice grip on the side of it which is supposed to help you hold on to the product when your hands are covered in lube. I found that even with the grip I had a hard time keeping the bottle from slipping and spilling all over the place (hence the spilling of it on my shirt). The top while easy to snap over and shut with clean hands is much more difficult to do when you're all lubed up. On the back of the bottle you'll find a list of ingredients(Dimethicone,Cyclopentasiloxane,Dimethiconol,Phenyl Trimethicone, Tocopheryl Acetate), as well as the key important details of the product ("Always silky,Hypoallergenic, Longest Lasting, Guaranteed never sticky"). Be careful to keep this product standing up right because when I left it laying on its side it did leak. The packaging is very eye catching and the black sparkly color makes me feel very sexy and naughty
