Striped thigh high socks - socks discontinued by Leg Avenue - review by PeachieClean

So, I'm in love with these socks. I wear them a few times a week and they are just the cutest things ever. They are everything I'd hoped for when I bought them!

These go about mid-thigh on me. They could go higher, but the band is a little small and I have decent sized thighs. I'm 4'10, so if you're exceptionally tall, these might be a bit short. If you've got bigger thighs, you'll probably have to wear these a bit lower, or they might not work for you at all.

They've got the tendency to slide down or roll down on me. That is all thigh-highs for me though, even the "stay up" kind. To deal with this, I wore the garter boy shorts that Eden carries and though it was a little difficult to get them in the garters at first, it worked really well. They stayed up the whole day with no problems. So, if you love these, just wear them with a garter belt and you'll be fine.

The material is soft and stretchy, with the exception of the top band. It isn't nearly as stretchy as the rest of the sock. It's also quite warm. I live in Washington and it's decently cold most of the year, so I tend to live in pants. Since I got these, however, I've managed to mostly wear skirts and dresses. I wouldn't dress like this to play in the snow, but for 35-40 degree weather they are actually quite nice. I'm hoping I'll be able to get away with wearing these through the spring, really only retiring them for Summer.

It hasn't been warm and I've only walked in them, but my feet have never felt wet, they way they often do when you wear socks and your feet start sweating. I'm sure if you were running or doing serious exercise in them that would change, but for walking (I walk everywhere, so these get anything from a walk to the mail box and back to a 2-3 mile journey, depending on what I'm doing that day.) these are excellent.

One thing I haven't tried is having sex in these. When I consider my rolling/falling problem, I don't think that they'd fare too well, but again, I can't even get the "Stay up" stockings to stay on without a good garter belt. (And the only *good* garter belt I have right now is actually underwear, so that doesn't work so well for sex.)

They came out of the packaging without a smell and I didn't really think a taste-test was necessary. I'm assuming it would just taste like any other cloth, but I could be wrong. I don't have the packaging anymore, but it was the same as the cardboard packaging thigh-highs come in at like, Wal-mart. Wrapped around a piece of cardboard, inside of a cardboard shell-thing. There wasn't anything screaming "Sex toy shop!" and I'd definitely say that these would make a good gift if you know someone who likes really long socks, or for anyone who wears skirts and dresses through out the year and might need something a little warmer to wear for the colder months.

The first time I wore these, it was snowing. I thought that it'd be a good time to test how warm they were and boy was I surprised! I walked out in a really awesome coat that I got for Christmas, a dress and these socks. And for the most part, I was plenty warm! Until the breeze that decided it was time to make it's way up my skirt came around. Then I was just cold and a little sad. It's too bad they don't make underwear out of the same material!

So I've just accidentally washed these in warm water. They shrunk a bit. I figured that was worth noting. They are still super cute and have re-stretched to fit me right, but they won't go quite as high they could before. So don't wash these in warm water!
