Lace over satin bra and garter set - shelf bra, panty and garter belt set discontinued by Coquette - review by petite-n-sweet

I purchased this set for the garter. I didn't pretend to believe that the top was going to fit me. I did think I could alter it, but after trying it on I quickly realized it was beyond save able.

Sizing:

I purchased this in a small. According to the size chart the entire set should have been too big for me, but this being my first stand alone garter, I thought it would not matter if the garter were a tiny bit big.

**This set is sized for a top heavy figure**

Most of you should be able to gather what that means, but here is more on why I say this.

TOP:
Coquette suggests a bust 34-36 with a B Cup. Well, I am NOT those measurements, but my friend is, and it was a slight bit big on her.

Her measurements are:

Under the bust: 29in
Fullest Point of Bust: 35in
Bra Size: 34B

She fit into the recommended sizing, yet the top needed to be placed on the tightest clasp, the elastic band budged out because it was not being pulled tightly, and her nipples barely peeked out over the top. She joked that she needed to stuff the bottom of it, to help lift the girls up, but still kept the bra.

My recommended sizing:

Under the bust: 30-33in
Fullest Point of Bust: 36-39in
Bra Size 34C to 36D

Or in other words Coquette size Medium.

If you are worried about the top being too small, don't be! It is very forgiving. There is elastic in the bra band, three clasps on the back for multiple sizes and adjustable shoulder straps. Also, by it being open cup, having a slightly larger cup size is not a problem!


GARTER:
Based on the pictures the garter should sit on the high hips. Coquette recommended hip measurements for a small is 36-38 inches. I would say this is accurate. I am 35 inches and it was a little too big. This was disappointing because I purchased the set for the garter.

The garter attaches at the back with a hook and is a adjustable around the hip about three inches. It lays flat and fits underneath clothes. I only had problems with it twisting around my hips.

The garters to attach to (not included) stockings are adjustable for length.

PANTY:

Tiny Panty Alert!

If you read the above paragraph, you saw that I have 35in hips and the recommended measurements are 36-38 in. Well, the panties were tight on me! I don't mind, because I like tight panties, but I seriously question how anyone with 38in hips would fit into these panties. There is NO WAY! Thankfully the panties are crotchless, so I did not get a wedgie, but my labia were pouring out of them screaming for air.

According to the photo, the panties sit low on the hips.

My recommended sizing:
33-35in low hip.

In conclusion, this 3 piece set is a Medium in the top, Small in the garter, and XSmall in the panties based on Coquette's size chart.


Quality:

I wish I could say this lingerie is well made. Lets start with the tiny panties: I guess they couldn't take the stress of 35in because I ripped them! I own a lot of g strings, but I have never ripped a pair before!

The garters irritated me royally! They are metal garters with black ribbon covering the slide in. If the ribbon wasn't getting in the way the clasp was just being enormously difficult. I am no expert on garters, (this is my third pair) but I literally spent 10 min putting these garters on.

The bra is probably the best made part of the set.


Overall:

This set has some redeeming qualities. It is incredibly pretty. The designs on it are so sensual, and the ribbon adds a romantic feel to the sexy black lace. If you can fit the bra, its worth the cost because it is a beautiful bra with lots of details!

Even though they are crotchless, I would not recommend having sex in the panties because they aren't very well made. They are well suited for clitoral stimulation and possible oral sex, but I wouldn't do much stretching of the fabric.

HAND WASH this set... you've been warned.

It is also quite difficult to go from lingerie to sex. You have to take off the garter to take off the panties, and the garter is a pain! After a while I just started leaving the garters attached to my stockings and removed the whole stocking/garter set. It was a lot easier and quicker, but I ruined two good pair of stockings from runs.

At least the bra is easy access.

Because I didn't fit the bra, I paired the panties and garter with a black lace bra. It wasn't as nice as the included bra, but it was still a stunning set.

I will give this set 3 stars because it is pretty, and should get most men and/or women aroused. I deducted stars because its not true to size, a little too delicate for rough play, and those garters drove me batty!
