Coquette never ceases to amaze me with their gorgeous designs. This Red Babydoll and G-String was no exception. Available in sizes S to 4X, Coquette wants you to feel like royalty from the moment you put this on. The gorgeous colors and empire waist make this babydoll sexy and elegant, and yet the length gives it a cute and sweet flair.

The show stopper in this set is most definitely the babydoll, so I'll talk about that first. According to the label, it's 82% nylon, and 18% spandex. You can wear this strapless, or use the included, adjustable straps for a little more support. It's easy to either step into this and pull it up, or pull it over your head. There are no zippers or snaps or buttons to worry about. The bodice is absolutely gorgeous, and the pictures that I included at the link near the end of this review just do not do it justice. The lightly padded bodice is a deep red, with a black, gathered lace overlay. Black lace ruffles line the top, and under the breasts there is a empire waistband band of black, adorned with two rhinestones. If they are not your style, you can easily cut them off. I did, and I prefer it that way. They're a bit too big for my taste, and are basically just decorative buttons. Under the band, the dress of this babydoll has several layers of sheer fabric that are soft and flow easily. The bottom of each layer has red piping. Personally, I'd prefer that it had black, but it's a cute contrast. You cannot see through the layers of material when you have this on, which is something that I personally love as I'm a bit self conscious about my stomach.

There is no underwire and thus not much breast support (or any in my case, since I got one that's a bit too big, it could provide support if the fit was snug enough, but I usually err on the side of caution and go bigger). It's very figure flattering. I did purchase the 1x/2x, and I think I could have easily gone down a size to the XL or maybe even the L. I plan to test this out by purchasing the Blue Babydoll in L. There is quite a bit of stretch to this and I think going down a size would be wise if you're on the cusp of sizes or are just not sure. I have a 44" measurement around the largest part of my bust, and a 38" band measurement, and the 1x/2x sort of swallows me. I think I can tailor this to myself by taking it in a little in the back, and even if I don't it's still beautiful on, and stays up without the straps just fine.

I think you could easily get away with wearing this as a top out of the house as well. I love lingerie items that can work both in and out of the bedroom.

The g-string is made of lycra, and is just plain and simple. It is black to match the babydoll, and it's very comfortable. I love that it's plain and I can wear it with other ensembles if I choose. The 1x2x g-string fits my 44" hips just fine.

As for washing, I hand wash the baby doll and hang to dry as per the instructions. I love it way too much to risk something happening to the lace in the washing machine. The g-string, I just throw in the washer and dryer with my normal laundry.

This is such a pretty babydoll. I absolutely adore the black and red together. It's one of my favorite things to wear, even though it is a little big on me. It's very comfortable.
