Great slip except for the slit

This slip functions well to go under clothing. This would be great to go under the other Eden dresses that are too sheer. It's comfortable enough and body-hugging enough to be a good staple in all closets. For the price, it's pretty good.

Initial Impressions

I wanted this slip to wear under other dresses that were too sheer. The slip was light and thin. It was extremely stretchy, which was good as I wanted something that would hug my body.

Pros

1. Good length: I'm 5'3", and this dress, including the bottom lace, falls halfway down my thigh. This length will work for most mini-dresses that you want to wear on top.

2. Comfortable: It's smooth to the touch and extremely stretchy. As it's so thin, it doesn't feel that constricting either. You can move around in it as much as you want and it shouldn't become uncomfortable. The only source of discomfort may be the top of the straps/lacing, which may be a little itchy.

3. Wear this in the bedroom: This can also be worn to sleep in, as it's so comfortable and it's pretty cute. The slit up the left leg adds a little sexiness in the bedroom.

4. Craftsmanship is good: No loose ends; everything seems to be sewn well.

5. Inexpensive: At $24, this slip is well worth it. It can be worn under any other dress, so it's a good staple to have.

Cons

1. Questionable material quality: The shoulder straps are made of ribbon.... That's some of the cheapest looking shoulder straps I've ever seen, but I guess it's not that big of a deal. The strap adjustors are also clear plastic, which looks cheap. The other material in the dress seems fine -- the lace is not itchy or hard, which is a plus.

2. Straps may be itchy: As mentioned before, the area where the straps are sewn onto the dress may be itchy because the ends of the straps are a bit hard and may scratch against the skin. Solutions may be to sew this part down to the dress fully or cut the ends of the ribbons off.

3. Body hugging, so may show unwanted pockets of fat: This hugs your body, so anything on your body will be shown. There is no ruching to hide anything. But, considering this is meant to be worn under other dresses or worn into the bedroom, I don't think it's that big of a deal. The slip isn't meant to show off the figure, after all.

4. It's sheer: The dress is sheer if you stretch it, but coupled with another dress on top, people shouldn't be able to see anything. The slip is one-layer thin.

5. Slit on side could be good or bad: I think the slit functions well in the bedroom to show some skin, but it doesn't function well for the dress as a slip. I would prefer something that doesn't show up to my butt (the slit begins maybe an inch or less from the panty line) if it's supposed to help cover me up underneath a dress.

Conclusion

The slip functions well for its purpose: to go under other dresses. I'm looking mainly for comfort and to make sure my clothing is not sheer when I wear outside, and this slip does well for both. It's also good to wear as a gown for sleeping in and seems pretty durable. I took off one star because of the itchiness and the design decision to have a slit in a slip.
