Petite flowers swirl hibiscus - traditional vibrator discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by Evenlei

First off, let me voice that I feel terrible for those who have had problems with this toy. In my month of owning and using the Petite Flowers Swirl Hibiscus I have, thankfully, never had any problems. I received this toy for free but would've gladly payed the listed price for it after seeing it's potential.

The vibrations of the petite are focused towards the tip where the bullet is located. This toy incredibly quiet! At the highest setting this toy couldn't be heard beyond a closed door unless you had your ear pressed against the door and were searching for the sound. If you are worried, just turn on the TV or stereo for a little background noise. The entire shaft is highly textured with a pronounced swirl and less noticeable flower details. It is incredibly flexible, something I personally love in a toy.(The tip and base of the toy do have a split softness to them due to the internal mechanical pieces surrounded by the soft covering.)The softness and flexible is due to the TPE material which is great for those who enjoy something soft but not completely floppy either. The TPE also makes the texture on the Petite much more enjoyable and not at all painful. Because this toy uses TPE, however, you cannot boil it to disinfect. Instead, wash with warm water and a mild soap or toy cleaner. Also, stay away from oil based lubes and go for a silicone or water based brand. After washing, dry completely and store in a safe place. I personally use the packaging the toy arrived in as storage. The box is a cute plastic casing that is easy to open and close repeatedly with damage. Inside the toy comes in a plastic tray which it can be stored in after usage as well. (As always, I remind you to store your toys separately to avoid any damage, melting, etc.)

The color of the toy is a cute frosted pink with a slight shine to it. There is no stickiness, smell, or taste to the toy. (If you are really nitpicking you may be able to find a slight plastic smell if your really shoving that sucker up the nose.) The design is very simple and straight forward. The dial on the end allows you to turn the toy off and on, with your choice of vibration strength. My toy successfully ranges from a very soft vibe to somewhere between the lowest and mid setting on my High Intensity Bullet. I've found the easiest way to rotate the dial with in use is with your thumb. There is texture to the dial which makes turning it easier. To turn it with more ease with in use, simply press your thumb against the dial edge and move it downward. The pressure from your thumb will catch the ridges on the dial and move it. The bottom of the toy is rounded off and easy to grip onto. Batteries are very easy to place in, just remember to tighten the cap completely and it's water proof!

Things to keep in mind? The amount of texture could be too much for those who don't enjoy a lot of textured. While the flowers are hardly felt, it's hard to miss the dramatic feeling of the swirl. I personally found it very enjoyable but I want to warn you, if you don't enjoy texture you probably won't enjoy the Petite. Also, due to the texture make sure you clean this toy well! I found the easiest way to clean with soap and water was to work the soap into a lather on the toy, follow the swirl with my finger and a slight scrubbing motion and run my thumb over the flowers in a circular motion. You may not have to put all this effort into it, I'm just a bit of a neat freak, but keep in mind that fluids can dry in the cervices and need to be cleaned well.

After ages, I am finally doing a follow up review! The Petite Flower was once a great toy in my book, for the price, that is. However, since time has passed it's developed an issue with the battery connection.

Like many DJ products, the battery connection in this toy has gone wonky and no longer functions. The toy may have lost its buzz but I still find it enjoyable. I don't find it enjoyable enough to use it often or give it a "I still like it" mark though.

Since the battery has died, it simply functions as a run-of-the-mill dildo. The texture and flexibility is still very enjoyable and fun to play with. The color of the material is very close to the original pink and has only slightly faded from use and cleaning. Considering how soft and squishy the material was, I expected there to be a lot of discoloration after this long but there luckily isn't!

Due to the battery issue, I wouldn't recommend this toy. Unless you are getting it for free with your purchase or around the $10 range, I would say pass. You can get products similar to this that actually keep their buzz and last longer. If you are looking for a super cute, girly, soft, and texture dildo...then go ahead and try this product. Overall, however, I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase this toy if given a second chance.
