Beauty and function

This sleek and sexy toy by Jopen is very versatile and is one of the only rabbits I've seen that will 'fit' most people as long as you are okay with the girthy tip. It's got a lot of power available, and it's perfect if you live with others and need a quieter toy. All that on top of being rechargeable and waterproof, this toy is certainly one that I can highly recommend.

Use

As soon as I saw that Jopen was releasing these dual stimulation toys, I knew that I had to get myself one. I have never been a huge fan of 'rabbit' style toys, but they were so pretty I figured that it was at least worth a shot.

The Vr 5.5 is intended to be used as a dual stimulation toy. It's most traditional use is to insert the larger, bulbous end into the vagina and then leave the thinner end outside to come in contact with your clitoris. The larger end has a g-spot bulge and is great to use if you're looking for a g-spot rabbit.

A less traditional way to use this toy is to insert part of it anally. If you're a man the clitoral piece will come in contact with your perineum, and if you're a woman you could potentially insert the other bit vaginally. Either way, having the two stems makes this anal safe and keeps it from slipping inside of you.

Though I tried, you really can't use this toy easily just externally, It's a bit long and gawky, so if you're looking for a clitoris-only toy I would recommend looking elsewhere. You also really couldn't use this toy for a full-body massage because of the shape and flexibility.

If you're looking to introduce toys as a couple, this wouldn't be my first choice. It's a bit large, and if you're just starting out with toys you may want to go with something a bit smaller. This also isn't a good design to use during intercourse, and it's a good idea to start with something cheaper in case your partner freaks out at the prospect of using toys together.

I feel similarly about this being your first toy in general. I would personally recommend something cheaper and a bit more versatile until you start to get a better feel for what works for your body. On the other hand, if you are used to thick penetration and have a large amount of money to drop on a 'rabbit' style toy, this would be the one I would recommend.

This toy 100% passes Ryu's dorm seal of approval. It's small, waterproof, and powerful. It's also so quiet there's no way that someone could hear it over the public showers or through my door. If you live with others the entire Jopen line is an awesome choice.

Material / Texture

This toy is made of the same silky, purple material that the entire Jopen line is. While this brand doesn't offer a variety of fun colors, only offering the one does make it seem more special. Silicone is rated a 10 out of 10 on the Eden Safety scale because it's nonporous and body safe, meaning that bacteria can't get under the surface and thrive and that it won't leak any ucky materials during use.

Silicone is also awesome because it's easy to disinfect by wiping it down with a 10% bleach solution. This should be done every time you switch partners or orifices in order to prevent the spread of bacteria and infection. While you can boil silicone, it's not recommended for toys with mechanical parts because it could damage the motors.

Because the material is so smooth, it doesn't offer a whole lot of drag. This is a good thing because it means that you don't necessarily need to use lube if you're used to larger toys and produce a lot of natural lubricants. If you do need to use lube, a little bit goes a long ways.

This toy had no scent or taste out of the box, and it has retained neither during use. This toy is a bit of a lint magnet, but it's also very easy to rinse off. It doesn't have any places other than the charging port where gunk can get stuck and the toy itself has no seams at all.

The control buttons are a bit raised but don't feel different from the material the rest of the toys is made of and they're very smooth. I also want to point out that there is a bit of raised wording in the back near the charging port, but since you can't insert it that far it shouldn't irritate or bother anyone during use.

Where the silicone is thinner in the clitoral arm it is very flexible and easy to bend around. Where the motors are encased the silicone almost feels like a hard plastic, and it has no give to it at all. This helps to make the tip feel wider than it really is and put a good amount of g-spot pressure. There is also no flex in the g-spotting end allowing for the user to thrust more easily with it.

In all, silicone is an awesome material for both new and seasoned users. It's got a lot to offer and is easy to disinfect, so I would highly recommend it. It is rigid on the g-spot shaft and flexible in the arm, but it's all personal choice when combined with the design if that's a good thing.

Design / Shape / Size

When it comes to whimsy, Jopen is king of the sex toy world (followed by Fun Factory, who must be queen). All of their designs are so nice on the eyes, and they are just as functional, if not more so, than other more bland toys. If you're looking for something that's just plain pretty you've come to the right place.

This dual stimulation vibrator is really a work of art. It has a tapered pointy tip that quickly flares out into the large, g-spot bulb. The g-spot bulb is a bit under 5 inches at the widest point, and after that it narrows out very quickly.

The clitoral arm is much smaller than thinner than the g-spot arm. It's a similar shape to a bass cleft, but the little curl on the end doesn't do much for function other than looking pretty. It really doesn't make it easier to press on or control than it would be otherwise, but it's still a small detail that really drew me to this model over the other Jopen rabbits.

In order to get the clitoral bit to hit where it needs to you have to insert this toy about 3 inches. By the time that I've inserted the shaft 3 inches in order for it to 'fit' right it's much slimmer and doesn't feel like it's stretching my entrance.

Because of the flexibility that the silicone lends the clitoral arm, you can easily thrust with the shaft and the arm flexes along with your body. When you insert the shaft deeper the vibrations in the clitoral part aren't as strong, but it's still enough to make most women happy. At most you can insert 4.5 inches of this toy.

Overall, this is a very versatile rabbit. Because it's so flexible and the shaft is fairly short it's perfect for those that have trouble inserting more traditional rabbits far enough to get the 'ears' to reach. My only caution would be about the girth, but if you're okay with something thick at the tip I would highly recommend this design.

Functions / Performance / Controls

While Jopen toys don't offer any patterns, they make more than up for it by offering a lot of power and different power settings. The clitoral motor and the internal motor can also both be controlled independently, which is great for those who need subtle or powerful external stimulation.

You can start either of the motors by just tapping the button. At this point it's on the lowest setting possible. After that you can hold down the button and have it ramp up to the setting you want. You can't ramp back down if you went too high on the settings, so you may want to do this slowly. At any point in time you can tap the button again to turn it off.

Both motors start at under 1 vroom in intensity and then the smaller motor is about 3.5 on high, while the larger motor is about 4 on high. They both are just under 2 bees and can't be heard over the public showers, through a door, or even really across the room.

The smaller motor is also a bit buzzier than the internal motor, but it's still much deeper than a bullet toy. What I really appreciate is that you can control the two motors independently because I know that some women really don't like intense clitoral vibrations but enjoy strong internal vibrations.

Something that sets Jopen apart from most rechargeable brands is that all of their toys are waterproof. Somehow the material forms a bubble over the charging port when you submerge it, so if yours for some reason gets water damage Jopen will replace it under warranty.

This toy takes about 4 hours to charge. The instructions claim that these are shipped pre-charged but neither of my Jopens have come that way. They also hold a charge for a very long time, and after about an hour and a half of total use this is still going strong on the first charge.

Another thing that I think is awesome is that you can travel lock this toy. If you're on a trip you can usually take the batteries out of toys, but the problem arises when you're taking a rechargeable toy and there's no way to make sure that it won't go off other than running it dead. To solve this problem you can just hold the two buttons down for a second to lock it, and then hold them down for a few more seconds to unlock it.

Performance wise this toy will be awesome for anyone who doesn't need oodles of power. It's got so many different power settings that it's nice for more sensitive users and those who need more oomph, and you can independently control the motors to get the perfect combination.

Care and Maintenance

This Jopen toy is very easy to care for, especially because it's entirely waterproof. There are no real places for gunk to get caught on this toy so it's easy to just wash this down. I use an antibacterial toy cleaner to clean this, but you also can use soap and water or a toy wipe if that's what you prefer. Because this toy is a lint magnet it might be the best idea to clean this both before and after every use.

I keep this toy in a cool, dark place with the rest of my toys. You should not store your silicone toys in contact with your other silicone toys because they run the risk of reacting together and with a fancy Jopen toy like this you don't want to take that chance. Similarly, you should avoid using silicone based lubricants with this toy.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

This toy comes in the same classy packaging that all Jopen toys do, but it's a bit of a smaller box than my VR 8 came in. The front of the box states the name of the company but doesn't really have any images on it, and the back of the box just gives some basic information. If you saw this in the store it gives enough information for you to make an informed decision, but the image on the back isn't the best.

It also comes with an insert giving some basic instructions. The instructions are for all of the toys in this line, and it also is a bit of a catalog pointing out the different features of all of the different products they make. The only issue that I have is that it states that this toy comes pre-charged which is false.

I personally wouldn't store my toy in the box because it's much larger than the Vr 5.5. It also would be a bit of a pain to have to get out and open up every time you wanted to use this vibrator. On the other hand it does feel very quality, so it would be awesome to wrap up and give as a gift.

Pardon the wonky lighting, my webcam was freaking out because the box is super white.

Personal comments

Something else I want to point out is that all Jopen toys come with an awesome storage pouch. As you can see in the picture below the pouch itself is HUGE! I really like the size of these because it means that you can fit more than just the toy in there if you're on the go, and you can also take the toy out and use it for pencils, electronics, chargers, or whatever you want.

It's also great because you an travel lock the toy and carry your lube and charger in the same bag so that you don't have to go digging through your luggage. When it comes to the bags that comes with toys the bigger the better, and this brand understands that.

Experience

When I saw this released on the Jopen site I knew that I had to have it when Eden started carrying it. The elegant clitoral piece reminded me of something musical, and it just seemed like it would work for my body. Now I have tried a Jopen rabbit before (it was a trade, and I didn't do a review on it) that was way too thick and 'clamp-y' for me, so this seemed like it would be a much better toy.

Personally, this toy was still too thick for me! Once I got it inserted it was awesome, the g-spot bulb was right where it needed to be, the clitoral arm was perfect, it was awesome for thrusting, and I loved the different settings. Unfortunately this will be finding a new home because it's super painful to insert and pull out the large, firm tip.

Keep in mind though that I am a total girth wimp and prefer toys with some flexibility. Judging by what works for most people, I have a feeling that this is going to be a great investment for almost all users. If you like rabbit style toys that are 'clampy' and put a lot of clitoral pressure you might need to do it manually with this one, but the flexibility means that you're not going to have to worry about this one 'reaching' where it needs to.

I am giving this Jopen 5 out of 5 stars even though it's too thick for me. It's still a bit pricey, but I think that all toys over $100 are going to seem that way to a college student like myself. The strong, quiet vibrations, the waterproof capabilities, the rechargeability, and the awesome material all make this something that I highly recommend.
