Bold Vibrations, Shy Power Button

This vibrator delivers strong, powerful vibrations with 7 enjoyable functions. Its only apparent downside is that the insertable length is pretty short, making it likely that in order to reach the g-spot, you'll need to insert it far enough that you end up losing access to the power/function button. Aside from this the toy is sturdy and tons of fun!
Published:
Pros

Cons
Not flexible at all, shallow insertable length

Use

The Embrace is an all-around good massager. It has two motors, both of which seem to be located at one end. The vibrations are strong, however, and carry well throughout the rest of the product. Because of the strength of the vibrations, it works as a general massager as well. Though it's primarily marketed as a g-spot vibrator, it can be used safely for anal play too. It can be used alone or with a partner for vaginal, clitoral, or anal stimulation.

Material / Texture

The Embrace is made of smooth, hard plastic. This makes cleaning and storage very easy, since it won't attract lint and doesn't have bacteria-loving crevices. It also means that the texture doesn't offer any added stimulation. The vibrator is curved, but very rigid. This is great for those who need lots of pressure, but there's no "give" for those who need it.

Design / Shape / Size

The Embrace is marketed as a g-spot vibrator, but it is the exact same toy as the Provoke prostate massager, except the g-spot vibe comes in pink and the Provoke comes in black (gender normativity, anyone?).

The Embrace is designed with a bulbous end and a smaller end. Both can be used for vaginal and anal insertion. The bulbous end is intended for g-spot play, as it has a wide head that gives great g-spot coverage. The smaller end can be used for g-spot play as well, since it's curved. I used it mainly for external anal play and clitoral stimulation, partly because the product's two motors are located in the wider end and the vibrations in the smaller end weren't strong enough for insertion. However, since the product's vibrations are pretty strong, the smaller end is great for when you want a gentler experience.

The contoured shape makes g-spot play easy, but I wish the shaft were a bit longer so that I wouldn't lose access to the control functions (details below). I was surprised at how thick the wider end was upon insertion, so I definitely recommend using lubricant before inserting. Despite this, the overall size of the vibe makes it good for travel because it's not very large (only about 6 inches long).

Functions / Performance / Controls

Here is a list of the seven functions:

1. Low Continuous: Discreet, inaudible under covers
2. Medium Continuous: Stronger vibration, inaudible under covers
3. High Continuous: Even stronger vibrations, audible under covers and possible through a door
4. Gradual Rev: Starts off at a low rumble, gradually increases, stops, and starts again. Possibly audible through covers
5. Pulse: Strong vibrations, audible under covers and possibly through a door
6. Faster Pulse: Not more powerful than the first pulse setting, but shorter intervals. Audible through a door
7. Short-Short-Short-Long: Audible through covers, possibly through a door

The product claims to have two motors. That's quite possible, because the vibrations are very strong, but they both seem to be located at the thicker end because that's where most of the "action" is on this toy. While the depth of the g-spot varies from person to person, I found that the depth at which I needed to insert this toy made it difficult for me to use the power/function button without having to pull the toy out slightly to be able to access the button. The same was true when I had the smaller end inserted as well. This may not be a problem for everyone, as each body is shaped differently. I just found that whenever I wanted to change the pattern, I had to pull it out a bit first. Using the button while it was inside of me wasn't an option because I have long nails, and ended up pinching myself inside while trying to press the buttons (ouch!). Aside from this, the functions are great. The toy is responsive and there is only one button for all the controls (press once to turn on or cycle through the functions, and hold down for about 3 seconds to turn off). There is no LED light to indicate the button has been pressed.

The waterproof seam seems pretty tight, and there are small notches that line up on each half of the shaft to indicate when the vibrator has been tightened all the way.
    • Easy to use
    • Lots of variety in function
    • Strong patterns

Care and Maintenance

Since the Embrace is made of hard plastic, it doesn't attract lint or hair. Therefore, you can store it with other toys, and in most kinds of storage options. It's also compatible with water- and silicone-based lubes. Cleaning is very simple--just some mild soap and water will do the trick! I also use a sterilizer for good measure, but overall the Embrace is pretty low-maintenance.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The packaging is minimal: a semi-cylindrical clear tube is the only housing that comes with this toy.

Follow-up commentary
This wand is still lovely, but I've stopped using it for G-spot play and now use it almost exclusively for clitoral stimulation. It's great as a whole, but I find that the power button is virtually inaccessible when the wand is inserted. That's just inconvenient when I want to change up the pattern.

Speaking of the power button, another thing that bothers me is that it falls off! That's right, the elliptical button has, on occasion, come off of the toy. Because of the material from which it's made, I just pop it back into the recessed depression in which it sits, but I'm nervous that it'll come out while inside me. I'm sure that a tiny dot of super glue would get it to stay, but I'm not sure how that would affect the ability to change patterns, so I don't want to try it. I'll just be careful and keep my finger on the button to make sure it doesn't go anywhere. Please note that even though the button comes off, it doesn't affect the vibe in any real way. The vibe is still waterproof and the functions are still scrollable. It's just an annoyance more than anything.

On a positive note, the Sweet Embrace seems to keep a good battery life, so I get a lot of uses out of it before having to change the batteries! Though it doesn't take rechargeable batteries, it requires size AAA, which are easy to find and relatively inexpensive.

I found it quite funny the black one is marketed to men despite both toys being identical as well. Great review!

Great review. I am a bit worried about the power button falling off, will have to see if this has happened to others.

Thanks, js250. I was definitely disappointed when that happened for the first time. As much as I use it (several times a week, actually), it's only happened twice. Still, it doesn't seem like the kind of think that should happen at all.

Thanks, Kake! In my follow-up, I mentioned a few things about the power button. It presents a problem when cleaning the toy because I don't want it to fall down the drain during sudsing, but other than that, this thing is great!
