Clits-of-Steel rejoice

Many vibrators claim to give intense vibrations. Inspire actually does. No matter how much power you want in a vibrator, the easy-to-use, easy-to-adjust Inspire will deliver. Just be prepared for the loud noise it will make.

Use

Want the power of the Magic Wand concentrated into a smaller area and don't need a discreet toy? Then Inspire may be the toy for you.

It's small enough to keep tucked next to your bed to deliver a power shot whenever you need it. It's probably best used in a bed, away from water and with music on to cover the noise if you're not alone in the house.

Its size lends itself to traveling if only it weren't so loud.

Material / Texture

Inspire is made of both silicone and plastic. The lighter colored parts have a Velvet-cote plastic finish, giving it a luxurious feel. The darker parts, including most of the head, are covered with silicone.

It has no scent and no texture.

Design / Shape / Size

Inspire is seven and a half inches long and lightweight. The eight foot long power cord is detachable, making it easy to remove the cord and tuck the vibrator away in a bed or nightstand. The detachability of the cord probably will extend the life of the unit. The part of my ancient Magic Wand that is most fragile is the first inch or two of the cord that extends out from the vibrator.

The Inspire packs as much intensity as the Magic Wand into its smaller head. This comparison holds when both are running at their highest settings. Even women like me who crave insane vibration intensity will be satisfied by Inspire. Truly.

The Inspire's head is smaller than the Magic Wand's, but this hasn't hindered its effectiveness.

Functions / Performance / Controls

A single button controls the unit. Pressing the button turns it on. When it's plugged in a red light glows to indicate its plugged-in status. Continuing to hold the button down increases the intensity of vibrations. Intensity will continue to increase as long as the button is held down until maximum vibration intensity is reached. Pressing the button then quickly releasing it turns Inspire off.

If you want to move to a lower intensity, you'll need to turn it off, then on to increase to the desired speed.

It sounds somewhat rattly in use, but the rattling will be drowned out by its loudness. You will probably not be able to use this toy without your housemates hearing it unless you use it at less than full intensity and play music at a healthy volume. It's still quite strong even halfway to its full speed.

Care and Maintenance

The instructions state, along with many other warnings such as not using it near water, not to use it for more than fifteen minutes at a time. I believe this is due to the heat that builds up in the unit as you use it. I haven't tried using it for more than fifteen minutes (I haven't needed to, which says a lot for me) but it may well become quite hot.

It's not waterproof, so use care when cleaning Inspire's head. Clean only with a damp cloth or toy cleaner.

Packaging

Inspire is packaged in a simple cardboard box typical of California Exotics products. The product literature explains how to operate it and gives a long list of cautions.

One of the cautions states: "The product is designed to be moved around the body and not to be used in one particular spot." But the Inspire screams out for one particular spot! California Exotics surely understands this.

"Use indoors only. Do not use under pillows or blankets to avoid overheating." This makes sense given how warm it becomes when you use it.

"Do not allow children to use it" (stated repeatedly). No problem there.

This is a cute, powerful little toy that I expect to keep in my box of favorite toys for the foreseeable future.

Good review. I got the toy from CEN's sexpert program. The controls are really interesting and it's definitely the most powerful one I own.

Is it louder than the Magic Wand?

Damn, I just replaced my hitachi (motor failure T_T) and with the current sale this would have been an awesome alternative. I'll have to check it out the next time I'm looking for a massager. Thank you for the review! (And the video was an excellent supplement.)

Leviathan, On full power, it is a bit louder than the Magic Wand. Both are loud though. Nothing is both powerful and quiet.

I'm not crazy about these things. I don't have a clit of steel, so I guess they just aren't for me?

Cherrylane, The thing about strong vibrators is that the orgasm they trigger is much stronger than what happens with weaker vibes. But some women feel that strong vibrators are unpleasantly strong. So if you're in that camp, it might not be good for you.

Maybe everyone needs a vibrator that's as strong as what they can handle, which for me is a jackhammer.
