The Hitachi Magic wand was originally made to be a body massager. Intrepid users found that it could be used for so much more. It is for external use only. I use my Hitachi solely for my pleasure. I can use it during sex, but it seems to do more harm than good because I can't get it exactly where I want it to be. I would say that unless you are using it as a body massager, the Hitachi is best used solo.

The Hitachi can stimulate sore muscles, your neck, feet or just about any place you could think of after a hard day on the job. Using it for masturbation, you would probably want it to stimulate your clit. Due to the size of the head and the power that this wand has, it really stimulates the entire genital area as well. Placing the head along my clitoral hood got me mind numbing power from one end of my vagina to the other.

The wand is made of vinyl and hard plastic. The hard plastic handle is super easy to clean, simply use soap and water to get rid of any residue that you might leave behind. The head of this wand is where you would have the most problems, cleaning wise. It is made of vinyl and is porous. Should you want to share this with a partner, it is recommended that you cover it with a dental dam to prevent any sharing of unwanted germs or possible stds.

I noticed a very slight smell on the head of the wand, but it was only noticeable when I placed it right next to my nose. The head is slightly squishy to the touch. It has a very slight texture that I can feel when I run my hand across it, but isn't noticeable when touching it to my skin.

First off, the Hitachi is HUGE! The handle alone is 9 inches. The neck is around an inch or so and the head gives you a little more than 2 inches. This makes the entire wand over a foot long. I thought that the size of the head would make it difficult to use, but it made it easy to hold and position, at least for me anyway. It wouldn't be suitable for travel unless you added it to your suitcase. It is not something that you can carry around in your purse.

There are 2 speeds with this massager, low and high. I would classify the low as the high speed on several of my other toys. It is a steady thrum of vibration, but not patterns. There are attachments that can be bought so that the speed can be gradually increased instead of simply being on or the other. I would describe the high speed as- OMG OMG, I think my clit just fell off. It is not a speed that I am going to use often. I really feel that it would have a numbing effect on me.

The vibrations are centered on the head but can be felt over the entire wand. I think the best thing about this wand is the power it has. The only problem that I have is that it only has 2 speeds. The controls are definitely easy to use. There are only 3 states of power to choose from; off, low and high. This wand is electric and therefore,NOT WATERPROOF.

It is recommended that you only use this product for 30 minutes or less to prevent overheating of the motor. I don't have a problem with this because it took me less than 10 minutes to orgasm from using the Hitachi. If you need more than 30 minutes to get off with the Hitachi, then you a "Clit of Steel" and I suggest looking elsewhere for stimulation.

This toy is very simple to care for. I use antibacterial soap with water or a toy cleaner after each use. I wrap the cord up and just put it my toy crate. I have heard of some people just leaving it on their nightstand. I recommend using water based lubricants with this wand, if you even need to use lube. When placing this toy near others, to be on the safe side I would let them touch. It is simply too nice of a toy, to take the chance that it could be harmed.

The toy came in a simple box that had several pictures of people using the wand on different parts of the body; like the arms, back, shoulders and legs. There were instructions as well as warranty information in the box. The box can be used for storage since it is pretty sturdy. If you were giving this as a gift, it would be very easy to simply add some wrapping paper around the box.

I honestly don't know how I had not picked up this toy before. It was a glaring oversight on my part. It is a quick and easy way for me to relax and even works well on my husband's sore muscles. I call that a Win Win in my book.
