California Exotics Platinum Edition Butterfly Kiss

Packaged in a basic plastic clamshell which contains the toy as well as an insert with the standard issue girl in lingerie making the “sexy face”, and describes the toy as “the perfect stimulator for complete feminine arousal” it also lists it's features as “optimum fluttering wings with tantalizing antennae” and “9 functions of vibration, pulsation, and escalation”. The packaging is not even remotely discrete, and neither is the toy, so no leaving it out on the coffee table when mom's gonna dropping by, unless your mom is really cool.

The toy is made of hypoallergenic TRP, with a plastic base and battery housing. It runs on 2 AAA batteries and has a surprisingly powerful motor for running off AAA. I'm not entirely sure if TRP can be used with oil lubricant, so I'm going to ere on the side of caution and recommend it be used with water or silicone based lubricants only. Thankfully, this toy doesn't have the funky smell that sometimes accompanies toys made of the material. As an added bonus the purple toy, is a truly fantastic shade of violet with a shimmering blue pearlesence.

The nine functions are as such:
vibration levels
1- low (a gentle buzz, like a cell phone when it's in your coat pocket)
2- medium (cell phone in your back pocket ;) )
3- high (camera motor when the film is rewinding you do remember what film is right?)
Patterns
1- high vibration pattern of three 1 second bursts followed by a 2 second pause
2- high vibration pattern of two 1 second bursts a long burst 3 seconds and a 2 second pause
3- pulsating high vibration
4- 4 seconds of high vibration followed by a 2 second pause
5- high vibration pattern of five 1 second bursts followed by a 2 second burst
6- three bursts of high 1 second vibration, a 3 second burst of high vibration and then a 2 second pause

I didn't find any of the patterns to be “escalating” unless you count the duration of the burst of vibration going from 1 second to 2. I found that patterns 2 and 5 to be the most stimulating, but none of the functions really brought me over the edge. Another bone of contention, if you try to apply more pressure you loose the fluttering sensation because the wings and antennae can't move, so essentially it's just functioning as a bullet. The vibrator is relatively quite, i give it 3Bee's you can certainly hear it when your in the room, but not through the door, especially if you've got music playing. The insertable portion is about 3” and some change, with a tulip shaped bulb at the end. Because of it's floppy nature inserting it can be a little tricky. I found it didn't *quite* reach my G-spot, but the vibrations carry through the material well enough that I did get some internal stimulation, just not enough to get off.

The toy is waterproof, to a point, it lacks the silicone washer around the base that most waterproof toys have so I didn't feel comfortable taking it in the tub with me, but it's certainly shower friendly.

Cleaning is easy enough to do with some anti-bacterial soap/toy cleanser and water or a toy wipe. It can not be sanitized via the popular methods, i.e. 10% bleach solution, boiling, dishwasher. Therefore I advise against sharing, especially since using a condom would be both tricky, and defeat the purpose of the wings and antennae fluttering goodness.

Overall, good toy for warming up but it isn't the star of the show. I advise against using it anally, and think it's more of a solo toy than one that would lend itself well to a partner assist. It's a good toy, well made, and versatile since it works great to tickle all of your skin, not just the naughty parts. I recommend this to beginners, or anyone who wants to give themselves a little happy before a hot date(or a not so hot one). As always, have fun and be safe.

while it's still an excellent clitoral vibe, i think the internal portion is still rather useless. I think I'd use it more if it was made of better material and was just the butterfly without the internal bit.
