The Mimi Generation I is an improvement on the Mimi, but the design, shape, and features are basically the same. The slight changes I will cover shortly, but first, usage.

Mimi is an external use only vibrator. It is good for solo play or partner play. It’s shaped for broad stimulation, but you can use the end opposite the buttons for more pinpoint vibrations which is how I like to use it. You can also use it for all over body massages, just be careful to avoid swollen and inflamed areas so they don’t get worse.

The Mimi is fully waterproof, so if you love to use toys in the shower or bath, this would be a good companion.

The entire body of the Mimi is smooth silicone, and on the larger rounded end is where the two metal buttons are located on a small plastic panel. The Je Joue logo is stamped into the silicone but it can barely be felt.

The manual states that there are four colors to choose from; however EdenFantasys has pink and black right now for this version of the Mimi.

The silicone coat covers a hard inner core, so it keeps its shape and you can get firm pressure if that’s what you like. It doesn’t pick up much dust or hair since it doesn’t have that much drag. If you need some lubricant to help it glide around better, stick to only water based lubes so the nice soft coat doesn’t get deteriorated.

The Mimi is basically the shape of a flattened egg. Its 3 ¼” long, 2” in width, and 1 ¼” thick. The shape allows it to fit in the palm of the hand with ease.

It’s compact. It’s discreet. It’s unlikely anyone will know this is a vibrator at first glance but tuck it away if you are worried about such things. Its travel friendly as long as you have somewhere to keep the Mimi and charger since it doesn’t come with a pouch.

The Mimi has two buttons which are a lot easier to press than the buttons on the old Mimi. Hold down the “+” to turn it on, then keep pressing it to cycle through the five steady vibration levels and 5 pulsating patterns. The “-“ button will return to the previous mode, but holding it down for a couple of seconds will turn the Mimi off.

The Mimi is a very strong high 4 vrooms, but it is really really quiet. If you live with others, then honestly, no one will hear this across the hall, next door etc. I can barely hear it through the covers.

The charger connects magnetically to the buttons on the Mimi and a full charge should give you a couple hours of play time. You know it is fully charged when the little light on the Mimi stops flashing. There’s no need to keep it on the charger when it is fully charged.

Soap and warm water is what is recommended to clean the Mimi, but you can also use toy cleaner if that’s what you prefer. Don’t boil it because that can damage the toy, but you can bleach it with a 10 per cent bleach solution to sterilize it.

The box it comes in is great for storage, but if that’s too bulky, the Mimi is fine to store with other pure silicone toys.

The packaging screams quality. First you have to peel off a layer of plastic, then there is a flimsy layer of cardboard with some product information but these can just be discarded. Then you’ll find a box with Je Joue written on it and that is where everything is stored. I love using this box to store my Mimi because the lid seals shut with two ribbons.

Inside the box you’ll find the Mimi sitting in a little plastic tray but it isn’t wrapped in anything so you’ll want to charge it up then wash it before using. There is a ribbon attached to the tray so it can be removed to reveal the instruction manual and charger beneath. The manual has basic cleaning and charging instructions in a variety of languages but that’s all fairly straightforward.

There is a 1 year warranty with the Mimi so keep the receipt in case anything goes wrong.

I have the old version of the Mimi and this one is a great improvement. An air pocket would appear when I was using it but this newer version doesn’t get that, plus the motor doesn’t heat up.

The motor on my old one would also slowly start to decrease and I haven’t noticed this one doing that at all. The power levels seem to be the same, but I’ve never had to use the Mimi on high, and the easier to press buttons make the world of difference. The Mimi Generation I is definitely worth getting.
