My Favorite Fairy

An external vibe for just about any occasion, this rechargeable clitoral vibrator wand is my new best friend. It's about the length of my hand (six inches?) from tip to top, and plugs in to the wall to recharge, which will save me so much money in batteries. The tip is the perfect size to fit onto your clitoral area (you don't always want it RIGHT there, right?) whether you're pressed against the bed, using an internal vibe at the same time, or have a partner on top of you. You only need a little space to get this thing where it needs to be; really, about as much space as you'd need for your hand to begin with.
The tip is made of hard plastic that has a nice smooth feel, even with the strange ridges on the sides, and the head is pleasantly bendable (just a little), so you don't have to turn it or flip the whole thing to get the right spot or pressure.
There are two settings. The bottom is Off, the middle is Low, and the top is High. It's easy to accidentally push it all the way to high without meaning to, but that hasn't been a bad issue.

I like the way the smooth plastic feels in my hand, and I also really like the smoothness of the head, and how flexible it is. Hard plastic is usually slick but not "soft", and just sort of feels... hard against your clit. It's not a bad thing, necessarily, but doesn't feel great. This baby doesn't have this problem. The plastic on the tip has a nice soft feel to it that works nicely, and even without lubricant I found I liked the feel of it.

I could do without the ridges around the edges of the head, but that's a cleaning issue entirely, not a texture one; I barely notice them when I'm using it.

I really like the way the fairy fits in my hand. The smooth curves of the handle fit well in my palm or fist, and I never feel like it's going to slip out of my grip, or the shape is too big or uncomfortable. You can hold it at different angles without feeling like you're going to drop it or it just doesn't fit in that position. The size is great for that.

It's small and compact, would fit in my makeup bag, honestly, and is just plain cute. I got it to replace my Iconic Rocket as my primary go to vibe, particularly for couple's play. My poor Rocket was losing its touch, and ate batteries up like candy, leaving me stuck halfway to the edge when I couldn't find replacements. The Pocket Fairy is an excellent replacement, and I don't have to worry about those batteries anymore!

Also, it's a pretty useless function, but I kind of love the light that turns on when you plug it into the charger! I really don't know why it's there other than to show that it's charging, but I kind of wish you could turn that on independently, because it'd be really cute in the dark during play, and kind of lights the way!

The only downside to the design that I've notice has been pointed out by others; that little slot-cover for the charger comes out completely. I've left mine on my bedside table for the moment, but I can guarantee it's going to get lost eventually.

Off, Low, High. You don't get much variety with this fairy, but what you do get is power. The lower setting feels a bit like a decent Bullet vibrator, and is usually enough for me when paired with enough stimulation (I have a clit of steel, and it takes a lot to get me going, so when I say it's good, it's probably pretty good). With that same amount of stimulation, the higher setting can set me off like a rocket. Without any stimulation, though, I have to use a mixture of both high and low to get juuust the right amount of sensations when and where I need them. But they are both strong, and for me that's what counts. In fact, it may be too strong for beginners or really anyone really sensitive, but I think the low setting is a really good, though the slightest bit intense, basic strength that most people should like. The higher setting is definitely intense, though, so I'd start low.

As I said, I got this to replace my poor, weary Rocket, and I think it will do quite nicely. It's about the same level of noise, which is pretty low, and the fact that there are two settings makes it better. Plus that power plug! It's exciting to free yourself from the chains of batteries for the first time.

Although it promises hours and hours and hours of run time, if you let it sit out for a few days, with or without use, you'll probably find it dying when you pick it up. But when that happens, you can even use the toy while it's plugged in, which is great; it just limits your movements a bit.

NOT waterproof, especially with that open plug port. Keep away from the water!

Okay, two downsides on maintenance. One an issues and one not.
One is those stupid ridges on the side of the head. Cleaning those tiny little dug in lines is really hard, and, while the whole thing is smooth enough that you can spritz it with a cleaner, wipe it and move on, those damned little ridges make you stop and take your time. The best thing, I've found, is after spraying with a cleaner, wipe with a tissue, and use your nail through the tissue to dig into those stupid little ridges, to make sure the cleaner gets everywhere.

The other issue is probably not an issue for anyone else, because I'm weird: I can't keep my fairy plugged in in my bedroom. I can HEAR it. When plugged in, the charger (and toy?) emits this tiny whine that I can hear from across the room. It stops when the toy is fully charged, which is at least a neat indicator, but still... Maybe it's just mine, or maybe it's just me, but when i charge it I have to keep it in another room to keep it from driving me insane.

I actually thought the box was adorable. It's primarily in Japanese, with some English interpretations here and there, but considering some toys don't even come in actual boxes, i always appreciate packaging, especially with there's information or pictures (which this had a little bit of).

I recommend always starting on the lower setting with this toy. One of the reviews I read (maybe more?) mentioned that they had their first "bad orgasm" with this toy. I think I know exactly what she's talking about, and because of the strength of the higher setting, this is possible if you jump right into it, or use the high setting for too long. However, I've gotten "bad orgasms" with almost all of my toys at least once. Personally, I think it's all about keeping your body calm but sensual, and using the force and movements that feel good; not pushing your body into the orgasm as if you could force it. For me, that's when I get a bad One, when my body's too tense and the sensations are too strong and I'm all clenched up and it just comes out like I've been struck by lightening or just been pounded by a rock slide, instead of washed over by waves.
