Fairy Lovely! Tiny Fairy, Lots of Power

This is a great tiny wand that doesn't lack power. For a rechargeable toy, I'm super-impressed and in love with it!

Use

The Fairy Pocket Mini is an adorable little mini-mini wand massager great for somewhat buzzy and intense clitoral stimulation or as a travel-size massager. The Pocket Fairy is not suitable for insertion.

Material / Texture

The Pocket Fairy is made of various plastics which is latex and phthalates free. The head has a semi-velvety and soft texture, the neck is a little rubbery-feeling, and the body is smooth, hard plastic.

The Pocket Fairy's head has a hard inner core, so while the texture is soft, the thing itself is largely rigid and hard except for the bits that drape past the core, but it is not uncomfortable. There are indented bands around the base of the head, but they don't really make a difference to me during use. They neither add or detract.

The smooth body is easy to grip and the ribbed off/low/high switch is easy to use.

The wristband is some sort of moderately soft springy synthetic with the toy's name and company website printed on it.

The Pocket Fairy is odorless, even right up under my nose I can't smell anything and doesn't taste of anything, either.

Design / Shape / Size

The Pocket Fairy is a traditional wand massager; just very, very small. This is a great introduction to wand massagers.

The whole thing is about 6" long. The head is 1x1" with the banded indents on the straight sides and the springy, ribbed neck is .5x.5". The body is about 4.5" long and tapers from 1" to a point around 1/4". The switch is located about .5" from the neck and bordered by a smooth, raised tapered oval. At the base, there's a hole for the wrist strap to be attached, if desired. Near that bottom, on the back, there's a little ditch that says "Media Craft" in it.

The wand is white with the word "Fairy", a tiny fairy and some stars in a salmon-y baby pink above the switch and a larger fairy, some more stars, and the words "Pocket mini" below it in the same shade.

The design is cute and rather innocent-looking. Perhaps some would raise eyebrows at a wand massager so small, or at all, but if that didn't tip them off I don't think anything else would.

The shape is easy to hold and comfortable to use. It's perfectly palm-sized and very lightweight. It's small enough to fit in a purse and the switch doesn't activate very easily, something would really have to jam up against it in transit to turn it on. Just keep it well padded and you'll be fine.

The Pocket Fairy is a rechargeable toy. Mine came with an AC adapter. The adapter is perfect for traveling, the prongs fold up into it so it becomes a very flat, thin white rectangle. The design of the charger is great in that the prongs can be folded out as desired, so the charger does not have to take up more than one outlet.

When recharging, a blue light shines through the base of the toy and turns off when it's finished.

The charging port is located on the side right near the bottom of the toy. It has a little rubbery cover that fits into it, and I hate that it's not attached to the toy itself. I just know I'm going to eventually lose it! I found the charging plug itself a little difficult to insert and remove, but not terribly so - I've been spoiled by magnetic chargers, I think.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Pocket Fairy has one switch. The bottom is the "off" position, one step up is "low" and one more is "high". That's it. No patterns or pulses, just strong steady vibrations.

The Pocket Fairy is a super-powerful little toy. For such a tiny toy it packs a huge punch. For me, the Pocket Fairy on low is about equivalent to the MiMi or Tango on high. Putting the Pocket Fairy on high blows them both away! This toy is a real winner for a small size and raw power.

The vibrations themselves are somewhat "buzzy". I have had great success with this toy as well as the MiMi and Tango, and the frequency of vibrations didn't bother me, but they are noticeably different. Tastes will vary, of course. The Pocket Fairy has not left me numb yet, but perhaps it's because it's so powerful that it doesn't have to be on and in position very long before the job is done. This toy is perfect for a very quick session.

For me, this is the answer to those times when I wish the MiMi could go just a little bit faster. The Pocket Fairy on high is a turbo-boost and well above the strength of MiMi and Tango and I love it for that.

Of course, with this power comes a bit more noise. The Pocket Fairy makes a rather loud, higher-pitched noise than the more rumbly vibes. It also has a tinkly rattle, a little like tiny pebbles stuck in a tiny wheel-well. The sound is not discreet, but it doesn't bother me in use. Although you can certainly hear this toy through a blanket, I doubt you could hear it through most doors unless the door and wall were very thin, but the toy is a fair bit noisier than other ones I've used.

Care and Maintenance

The Pocket Fairy is hard plastic and you could use water-based, oil, or silicone lube with it - but I doubt you'll really need to unless you wanted to use it for sensory purposes.

For cleaning, you can use soap and water or isopropyl alcohol. Since the toy is not waterproof, you have to be a little careful when cleaning it, but using a damp cloth I don't have any trouble. This might be a good one to use toy wipes or spray-toy-cleaner on as well.

I haven't had any trouble cleaning the little indents on the head, but I have not used any lubricant and am rather dry down there. I imagine if there were more fluids in play, then those could be an issue for cleaning and you might want to consider the added cleaning hassle it before purchasing. Perhaps you could put something over the head when in use if it was a problem.

For storage, I just keep the Pocket Fairy in the box it came in and that has proved adequate, though not perfect. It would be easier to store in a soft pouch. Just keep it in a cool, dark, and dry place regardless.

Packaging

When you get the Pocket Fairy, you get two boxes; one with the charger and one with the wand itself.

The charger box is plain and says ADAPTER and the voltage on it. The charger inside is wrapped in plastic and the cord is secured with a twisty-tie. Plain, does the job, for recycling, not storage.

The wand's box is pink with the words "Fairy Pocket Mini" and a fairy silhouette on it, along with flowers and even a butterfly - Japan knows how to do sugar sweet and cute. Most of it is in Japanese and I won't lie, I can't read Japanese even though I really liked Ponyo. There's a lot of garbled English along with pictures of the other Fairy wands and pictures showing where to insert the charger and showing it charging with the light on.

I'd say the box is discreet. There's really nothing sexual about it. It says "for women's [sic]", but it's not like it says "for women's girlybits". It would make a cute gift, but with the power of this toy I'm not quite sure it would make a "good first toy" even though it's non-threatening and cute.

You open the box, slide out the plastic holder and ta-da, Fairy and wrist strap.

There is no manual, but that's not really the end of the world for this toy.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Would make a nice gift

Personal comments

The Pocket Fairy is absolutely delightful if you're looking for a small super-powerful toy. With this level of power, I think the noise level is reasonable and understandable. The fact that this is rechargeable makes this toy a real winner for me.

Experience

I love my deeper, rumblier vibes, but the Pocket Fairy just has that extra bit of power that they don't. It starts off as strong as they are on high and then goes higher. I love it!

Frequency of vibrations is a matter of taste, and these certainly aren't as deep as MiMi and Tango, but I didn't have a problem with them and didn't experience any numbing. I prefer the deeper vibrations, but I don't even have to "tolerate" the buzz of the Pocket Fairy, they feel pretty good - just not quite as good and the power makes up for that.

My experience with this toy is that it's totally awesome and I can't wait to get one of the bigger, corded fairies next to see how fast they go!
Follow-up commentary
It's not that I don't like it any more, but that I've found other toys that do the job better for me.

If size is an issue, this might be the toy for you - but I prefer the Big Fairy to this one. It's not that much noisier (if at all) and the vibrations are less buzzy and it offers a much more intense range of vibrations.

The Pocket Fairy is still a good high-powered vibe if you don't mind the buzzy lean to the vibrations and the noise isn't an issue. It's great for what it is - a mini wand that's not too big for partner play or travel. But I'd rather have a small vibe like the MiMi that's quieter or dive in and use the full-size wand. If you don't mind the noise, nothing beats a full-size wand!
