Makes me all fluttery!

Amazingly powerful little wand-style buzzy vibrator that delivers outrageously intense sensation to focused areas. An excellent clit stimulator all-around, and not too shabby for travel either, as long as you turn the TV up in your hotel room(it's not exactly the quietest toy ever, but that's par for the course with this level of vibration). One of my all-time favorite toys - it's a must-have, in my humble opinion. The pocket fairy is guaranteed to make you go all fluttery inside as well.

Use

This cute, chic, small, and discreet wand style vibrator is mainly suited for clitoral stimulation, though a few other uses come to mind. While insertion is not recommended in the slightest, you could tease the vaginal opening or the rim of the anus with this toy, or even rub it softly around the testicles. Because of its wand styling, one could even use it on muscle knots or simply as a sensual tease on other parts of the body, though, because the head of the wand is so small, it is not going to have the impact on muscle aches and pains that a larger wand might, unless you're specifically targeting one particular spot. The Pocket Fairy can be used for solo fun or with your partner, as its small size, flexible shaft, and slim body allow for it to be used for a wide variety of partner activities.

Material / Texture

The Pocket Fairy has no discernible odor to me, but then again, I have to warn you my sense of smell is not among the world's finest. The ribbed head, which is the part that you use directly on the clit or whatever body part you choose to stimulate with it, is made of silicone, and can get dirt and debris in the ribbed grooves, so be careful to clean those areas extra-thoroughly. The head also seems less porous than some other similar toys, such as the Hitachi, so that makes it easier to clean in general even if the grooves do present a bit of a challenge, though not a major one. The shaft that connects the handle of the toy and the head is a flexible but not loose rubber-coated spring and the handle itself is hard, smooth platic, which is easy to grip (unless covered with lube or other liquids - and I do mean COVERED). Even though the silicone head is hard, it's not painful or irritating. The ribbed grooves neither add nor detract from the toy's funtion, so far as I can tell, except to make it a bit harder to clean. All in all, though, I'd say its texture and materials are not unlike similar toys of this type, and though I would not recommend it to a beginner for a variety of reasons, the texture and material, while being one of those reasons, wouldn't top the list.

Design / Shape / Size

The total length of the Pocket Fairy is approximately 5 1/2 inches. The smooth plastic handle of the wand probably accounts for about 4 1/2 of those inches and is a sleek white with adorable yet subtle light pink fairy designs printed on it (similar to the effect of lightly applying a high-end fairy photoshop brush or a similar design process). The handle is not technically 100 per cent ergonomic, yet is close enough for me. Starting at the top (where it connects to the rubber-coated spring shaft) in a bulbous end, it tapers nicely to a point at the end. Tne connecting shaft and the head of the Pocket Fairy are white too, though perhaps more of an eggshell white than a bright white, like the handle. The connecting shaft is about 1/4 in diameter and 1/2 in length and the rubber totally and completely covers the spring in a secure manner. Not once did it slip or become loose in any way on my wand, nor did that ever become a concern. The hard, smooth silicone head of the Pocket Fairy is about 1/2 inch long with about the same diameter. It is kind of a tapered oval shape that is flatter at the top than on the sides, making for a nice, wide, flat surface to be used against your clit or whatever body part you choose to stimulate with this toy. In general, I find the design, the size, and the shape to be both aesthetically pleasing and more than practical. It is also very discreet in size at only 5 1/2 inches in length and 1/2 inch in diameter at its widest (at the head). In my opinion, the design is near-flawless for Fairy fun.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The best feature of this toy is its intense vibrations, as I've mentioned already. They're very buzzy and on its low setting, the Pocket Fairy has 11,000 rpms, compared to the Hitachi's 6,000 rpms at its high-speed, just to give you a reference point. Don't let that scare you off, though! Really, as small as it is its easy to focus the small head exactly where you want it (size really DOESN'T matter sometimes) and easy to move and rotate, etc. You can maneuver and manipulate the Pocket Fairy into the EXACT position you want to focus on, unlike larger wand massagers, which tend to radiate their vibrations throughout the genitalia and can be overwhelming, at least for me. I did not find that to be a factor with the Pocket Fairy. Also, because of the flexibility of the shaft connecting the somewhat ergonomic handle and the wand's head, you're allowed even more maneuverability and ease of use. Speaking of the connecting shaft, its actually a rubber-covered spring. Now, that may make some of you pause, thinking "surely a spring would be TOO flexible and would flop around," but, have no fear, the spring is tight enough that I found the degree of flexibility to be downright perfect. In fact, I find the flexible shaft to be one of the Pocket Fairy's best features. It allows you to really hit the spot perfectly and once you hit it, to circle it, or smother it, or whatever your pleasure.

The Pocket Fairy is controlled by a switch on the middle of the body that easily switches between its two levels of vibration with just a simple slide of the finger. It's rechargeable, so it sometimes dies during use, but its intensity won't weaken first, it'll simply shut off. Because it's rechargeable, it's cordless which, for me, is one of its greatest advantages. I mean really, who likes being tethered by cords during play? Also, it can be used during charging, as I gleefully found out. If you do use it while charging though, it's probably best used for solo play and used cautiously, as the charger's cord is very short. The charger is an a/c adapter charger that plugs in on the lower part of the side of the slim handle. Be careful though, it's pretty flimsy and breaks easy, the only big drawback I see to the Pocket Fairy.

Care and Maintenance

Because the head of the Pocket Fairy is made of silicone, I HIGHLY recommend against using silicone based lubes, as they may damage your vibe. Otherwise, water and oil-based lubes should work fine, though it's always recommended to spot check your lube on your toy before using it full-on. Cleaning-wise, I'd recommend against soap and water, to avoid getting it in the open outlet for the charger, which is located on the side of the handle of the toy. Wipes and toy cleaners are probably your best bets, but remember to watch out for that charger outlet when using the toy cleaners. As for storage, given the Pocket Fairy's size, it can be stored in basically any toy storage unit, a drawer in your bedside table or chest of drawers, and so on and so forth. It doesn't come with a pouch or any other protective storage - just the plastic and cardboard packaging, so unless you buy a pouch or something similar, I wouldn't suggest putting it in a purse or anything similar, so that dirt and similar debris don't build up in the charger outlet. However, because of the size it IS very portable, so a pouch may be a wise investment. As for charging time, the average length seems to be around 90 minutes, though mine has charged in as few as maybe 75 minutes. The charger lights up blue while charging and once the charge is fully complete, the light goes out, so you always know when your Pocket Fairy is fully ready to tease and please.

Packaging

The Pocket Fairy comes packaged in a plastic insert in a cardboard and plastic box, much like many toys. It's cute enough, but 99% of the writing on the packaging is in japanese and I don't recall there being any instructions, so the packaging is pretty much useless. Yes, you can keep it for storage, but it's neither durable nor strong, so it won't last very long at all. I recommend either wrapping it in a hand towel or something similar, putting it in a plastic baggie (such as a zip-lock sandwich bag), or buying a toy pouch from Edenfantasys for storage and travel, especially since its size and ability to be recharged make it such a great portable toy, especially for travel. I would not advise using this packaging for a gift box, in my opinion, it would look cheap - instead, buy or make your own or better yet, get one of those cute gift bags from the drugstore or card store and include a toy pouch and lube for the ideal gift!

Personal comments

While this may not be the overall total and complete ideal vibrator, it's the ideal one for me (so far at least). I definitely prefer it way above and beyond the Wanachi and the Hitachi, but we all have our own preferences and the smaller size and the flexibility of its shaft are HUGE pluses for me. However, I cannot imagine anyone with experience using toys not loving this vibe.

Experience

I have used this alone with no other toys, alone with other toys, during phone sex, while performing for my partner in person, have had it used on me by my partner and during play with my partner. Both of us had nothing but rave reviews in each scenario. It's an excellent orgasm control tool, mutual masturbation tool, or tool for your partner to have you perform for him/her, as well as many other scenarios. My favorite though, and perhaps what it's best-suited for in my mind (though kink-related areas are where my mind tends to go to first) is the orgasm control.

Follow-up commentary
First, I want to say, I'm still madly in love with the adorable and amazingly powerful Fairy. For a toy of its size, it packs more of a punch than I would've thought possible. As I said in my original review, I can't imagine anyone who likes strong clitoral vibrations not loving this toy. Anyway...

On to the next order of business. There are some things about my original review that I want to correct. First, there's some controversy about what the head of the Pocket Fairy is made of and to be honest, I still can't say with any certainty. However, I recently replaced mine and scoured the packaging for any information on materials. I found none, although there was a bit more info in English than the packaging on my original. For instance, it says the Pocket Fairy has 11,000 rpms on its HIGH setting, not on its low, as previously stated. Also of note, its precise length is 5.8 inches and at its widest point it is precisely 1 inch wide. It uses a Lithium-ion rechargeable battery and has a over-charging protection circuit. Therefore, if you forget about it and leave it on the charger while you go out of town for the weekend, you don't risk ruining the charging mechanism.

Now, back to the whole materials controversy. I had stated in my original review that the head of the Pocket Fairy was made of silicone. I am not convinced that it isn't. I was told it was silicone by someone who should know and shouldn't be giving me erroneous information. However, the product info page says that it's made of plastic and indeed, parts of the Pocket Fairy, such as the handle, most definitely are. The main thing that makes me think it's possible the head, which feels very much like silicone, is silicone is that it seems to have been slightly affected by the use of silicone lubricant - it got smoother and had a couple of tiny pits in it. I will not be using anything but water-based lube with it again and I am now of the view that generally-speaking, the Pocket Fairy should only be used with water-based lubricants.

Two other quick things of note. The Pocket Fairy does come with a tiny rubber protector - the easiest thing to lose that I can think of - as well as a small pink and white lanyard. Also, there are grooves or seams of a sort on the sides of the handle that, like the grooves in the head, can present a cleaning challenge, so be sure to clean them thoroughly after each use. Other than that, it still seems like a darn near ideal toy for most clits o' steel. I still use it regularly (though not every single time I have my fun time, as before) and it will continue to remain a staple of my toy collection for the foreseeable future.
