This is an excellent wand for clitoral stimulation, sure to satisfy most everyone. I love it and would buy this again and again just to have back-ups.

Use

Every girl needs a wand. The Fairy Pocket Mini is perfect for clitoral stimulation. Unlike it's larger, clunkier friends like the classic Hitachi or the original Fairy, Pocket Mini isn't going to do any double-duty as a muscle massager. But your clitoris will thank you! Like many wands without attachments, the Pocket Mini's head is not for penetration.

I personally would not get this anywhere near water, though it probably would hold up to moderate splashing. I imagine the Pocket Mini could be used anywhere; sitting or lounging is appropriate, especially since it holds a great charge, and is so very portable. Think the bed, the couch, the car, outside on a picnic, a very dark club or restaurant, if that's your thing...

I use this toy by myself (frequently! My new favorite!), but I've also incorporated the Pocket Mini into foreplay and teasing nipples for both my boyfriend and myself. Teasing along the perineum and anus is definitely an option (though, as always, be aware of cleanliness issues). The vibrations may be a little high for men unused to vibration, or those who find vibratory stimuli to be 'tickly' rather than arousing. For solo play, I would not be concerned about noise outside a door or under covers as the Pocket Mini is fairly quiet. Great for dorms or room mate situations.

As for travel and storage, the Pocket Mini is excellent. The adapter clicks back into itself, a feature that I love.

Material / Texture

The Pocket Mini is like many wands. The head is plastic, that feels smooth to soft, even slightly squishy. The top of the head is totally smooth, but there are ridges around the circumference of the head that feel divine! The head of the wand sits atop a somewhat flexible neck, but I would neither involve the neck in stimulating play nor would I bend it too far, so be warned. Pocket Mini's body casing is hard, smooth plastic with a glossy finish -- like many toy or electronic casings. A woven cloth wrist-strap is included, which is just like a Wiimote's strap.

Pocket Mini and Wiimote

There was a faint plastic smell to the head when I first opened the Pocket Mini, and the smell lingers very faintly. It doesn't bother me.

Design / Shape / Size

As you can see in the above picture, the Pocket Mini is pretty comparable in length to a Wiimote. The gently curved body casing fits into the hand very well, like a large pen. The controls, which are very simple, are in perfect reach of your thumb while in use. I'm also extremely pleased that the vibrations do not travel to the body at all! Despite how powerful the Pocket Mini is, I can barely feel it in my hand, only where I want the vibrations to go! This is great news for those who need a powerful toy but get numb hands after handling them.

The head of the wand is somewhat small, but having tried the Pocket Mini before a classic Hitachi or larger wand, I don't know why you'd need a larger head. The head, looking down upon it, is almost perfectly the size of a quarter.

Pocket Mini Comparison size

The total length is 5 1/2".
The widest part of the head and the widest part of the body are both 1".

The only design complaint I have, is that the charging port is covered only by a completely removable piece of plastic. All cell phones and mp3 players usually make these attached, so I can't imagine why this wasn't addressed. Don't lose the little piece of plastic as your splash protection will be lost as well as general schmutz will get in the port.

Other than that, I think the Pocket Mini is fairly discreet-looking for those unfamiliar with sex toys, mostly due to its small size. It would be easy to mistake for a toy, especially with that dorky strap.

Functions / Performance / Controls

This is where the Pocket Mini shines. It's a powerful little wand, more powerful than I was expecting. As I mentioned before, the slide control is in the perfect position to be accessed by a thumb while in use or not. There are only two settings: off (bottom-most on the slide), low (middle) and high (top). The rating of 5 vrooms is well-earned because the high setting is not kidding -- it's high! Even the low setting would be high or medium on other toys. I frequently find that I needn't use the high setting to get off because the low is more than adequate (power queens rejoice). The lack of patterns doesn't bother me, as I enjoy steady stimulation.

Unlike the We-Vibe touch or the Chandra that I have reviewed, the Pocket Mini doesn't lose power with pressure or as its battery life winds down. Hooray!

One charge for the Pocket Mini usually lasts me more than an hour. One charge requires 90 minutes to complete. A nifty blue light shines around the port when you charge it. Be warned that the charger doesn't slide all the way into the port and it doesn't click to tell you it's inside and secure. The blue light is there to tell you the Pocket Mini is charging just fine.

Care and Maintenance

As the Pocket Mini is not waterproof and only splash-proof if you keep the plastic port protector, cleaning must be limited to wiping. Very gentle, careful soap and water is another option, which I prefer since the ridges along the side of the head really do collect contaminants. Using a soft, thin cloth and your finger nail, you can clean it up pretty well. Cleaning the underside of the head is a bit of a bear, unfortunately. I consider these relatively small concerns and generally, the Pocket Mini isn't a bother for me.

I store the Pocket Mini in its box, because it's adorable and the plastic insert is molded to its shape very well. However, there is no room in the main box for the charging port and adapter, which came in a separate box. I simply store the adapter in its own gauze bag in my toy chest.

Since the Pocket Mini is plastic, it's compatible with water based, oil and silicone lubes. I personally would stick to water-based, since clean up is easier. The Pocket Mini is unlikely to react with other toys in storage.

Packaging

As if I needed another favorite part to this toy -- the Pocket Mini comes in adorably Engrish-ified packaging. Very tiny text says, "Fairy series final type handy vibe revolution/It is a settled small size in the pocket/Electric massage machine of minimum in the world pocket size".

Pocket Mini packaging

The front says "Pocket Mini for Women's" -- women's... what? Hmm? It's also 98% in Japanese, so I can't glean too much information from it.

Other than that, the box, like the toy itself, is fairly discreet because it could be mistaken for a toy's packaging.

Follow-up commentary
I adore the Fairy Pocket Mini. This toy charges fast, keeps a charge, and I find myself generally keeping to the 'low' setting, despite needing significant vibrations to be satisfied. I haven't encountered any quality issues with continued use and the original box is ideal for storage.

Somehow, I keep picking up the Fairy whenever I'm looking in my box! I'm even looking to get other Fairy products, because the idea of head attachments really intrigues me! Don't wait on this wand, it's a keeper.

Haha I took a look at that picture and said "What? It's controlled by Wiimote???" The small size actually looks quite nice if just for sexual use. The Hitachi is clunky! The Engrish on the package had me cracking up... I loved that! Thanks for all the information, great review
