As a guy, I was not comfortable talking about it with my peers for risk of being ridiculed, and most everyone I knew was getting it on with their girlfriends which made it even more strange for me.
Besides that, if I did become sexual earlier, I would have had more partners to get experience for my spouse, not going into marriage blindly though I definitely would not want to be risky either.

I would not have had sex with my first partner for many reasons.
My husband and I dated in HS and he played hard to get and we never had sex. Had I known how amazing he was or that he was holding me off because he really loved me, I would have never broken up with him. He was quite the player back then, so I thought he didn't like me that much because he always held back. In reality he held back because he really cared about me and did not want our relationship just to be about sex. It took me a while but I finally got my man.
