Not weird at all! That's what I did

I have to say, I'm a virgin and have yet to have sex other than using toys on myself. I absolutely hate it when people say that I'm not a virgin because I've used something on myself. It's not uncommon for hymens to break before sexual intercourse, would you consider someone a virgin then? In my mind I'm still a virgin even though I've used dildos and vibes on myself.

my opinion. Even if there's no penetration, I may not want to consider myself one if there's all kinds of wonderful other stuff involved. Honestly I am less nervous about it knowing I know how my body works sexually. And hey, when that time does come, I'll probably have an easier time relaxing and enjoying it (or at least embracing the awkwardness) since I'm not all hung up on the "OMG PENETRATION PAIN PAIN PAIN" aspect.

No, I don't think it's weird. A girl could "lose her virginity" by using a tampon...once you're with another person sexually, you've "lost your virginity"...you cannot lose it with a vibe!

I definitely have some compunctions about it myself since that's how I started exploring sex, but overall, it's not that weird. Granted, I've yet to actually orgasm with masturbation but it's a ritual for me and something that makes me happy to do before bed.

There's nothing weird about that at all! As for the "virginity" bit, that word is about as well-defined as it is useful (that is to say, not very much at all). Using a toy first isn't going to "ruin you" for a future partner (or whatever else the worry might be); in fact, using a toy will probably help you discover what sorts of things you really like so when you do have your first time with another person, you'll be better able to communicate what it is you enjoy.

I don't think its weird and I don't consider it losing your virginity. My first penetration was with a dildo, and it made my first time with a guy easier because I sort of knew what to expect. As for the virginity thing, I think of that as being your first time with another person. A toy doesn't count

I lost my virginity to a speculum getting a Mirena put in. And it was so painful that I realized that I should probably 'stretch myself out' a bit. So I started using a dildo to do just that.

First time I had actual sex, we had to use a TON of lube or he couldn't get it in. I can't even imagine how much of a train wreck it would have been had I not taken the preparation that I did.
