Maybe A Litte Bit TOO Beginner

This L'amour silicone/TPE anal probe by Cal Exotics is mainly intended for beginners, and pretty much ONLY beginners. Its small size is really only pleasurable for "first toy of the day" use, or for true beginners to anal play. It comes with a suction cup though, which makes it easier to use.

Use

When Cal Exotic called this silicone anal probe "Beginner", they meant "BEGINNER"! Since this toy is so small, really only someone who has never put anything in their butt before (including a penis) would find any sort of enjoyment from this toy. Also, the base is quite a safety hazard; it's not much bigger than the largest part of the toy, and is pretty thin (since it's a suction cup). The only way I can even use this toy safely is if I have it suctioned to a wall or other surface -- otherwise the whole thing gets lost.

It's made of a very hard silicone, so it is safe, waterproof, and non-porous. That said, it does not bend very well. On the bright side, it's so small that it's perfect for travel... or, for sending to your friends as a joke. It looks like it might be shaped for g/p spot stimulation, but it seems a bit short for that.

Material / Texture

Since this toy is silicone, it's extremely safe (a 10 on the EF safety scale). Silicone can be boiled and soaked in a 10% bleach solution for sterilization. It's waterproof, and it can easily be cleaned with soap and water. It has no smell or taste to it, as well.

The toy is very, very firm. On the shore scale, it's about an A45 (compared to A0 to A30 on most of my silicone toys). The shore scale is simply a way to compare the firmness of poured rubbers and plastics on a scale of 00-D and 0+.

It's very smooth, and the only textures are three ridges running down the length of the toy. Two of the ridges try to conceal the unnoticeable seam. It definitely takes well to lube, as lube makes it slip right in. Only water-based lube should be used with this toy, as silicone based lubes can deteriorate your toy.

Also, according to the packaging, the core is TPE, which is much softer than the silicone surrounding it. The base is the same firmness as the rest of the toy, but since it's so thin (comparable to any other rubber suction cup), it feels a bit less firm than the rest of the toy. It's also more flexible than the rest of the toy.

Design / Shape / Size

It's definitely designed for optimal insertion with its soft gentle curves and gradual girth. Now, my major gripe about this toy (and apparently everyone else's, too) is that it's REALLY TINY. Also, the base is way too tiny to make it safe (only maybe a quarter inch more in girth than the widest part of the toy).

Here are some specs of the size:
Length: 4" (The usable portion is about the same length as a playing card)
Insertable length: 3 1/2"
Circumference: 4"
Diameter: 1 1/4"
Weight: 1.7 oz

As you can see, this toy is definitely for a real beginner. I got the "blue" color, which is actually more of a periwinkle/purple color. Since the toy is so small, it's perfect for travel. You can keep it in your pocket if you wanted to, really. It's definitely not discreet though, so don't whip it out in the middle of wherever you are. I tried using it a few times, and it keeps getting lost during anal use unless I attach it to something (like a wall) with the suction cup.

Performance

When I first started toying, I thought I was a total beginner. That is, until I used this toy. It kept getting lost in me, and now I'm afraid to use it. I'm afraid that it'll get lost WAY up there. If you want to use it, I recommend making use of the suction cup that's provided.

On the plus side, the suction cup works VERY well. It sticks to any hard/flat surface, and it holds on with a death grip. The plug itself is very comfortable once it's inserted, as it is very ergonomic. It actually feels decent. For me, it's only good for a first toy of the day, since if I do some other toying before hand, I'm way too loose for this toy.

Care and Maintenance

Like all pure silicone toys, this toy is a cinch to clean. You just wash it with some soap and water. If you have tough spots you want to get out, you can throw it in the dishwasher, soak it in a 10% bleach solution (wash it with soap and water afterwards), or even boil it. After you dry it, just throw it back in the box and you're done. The original packaging is great for storage.

Like all silicone toys, you don't want to use silicone lubricants with this toy. Water-based is best, as the other types of lubricant can deteriorate the toy.

The TPE core is only inside the toy, so there are no necessary precautions for that.

Packaging

The toy is packaged in a clear plastic box that has the company title, product line title, and model title on the front. On the back, it has a few features of the toy, as well as a few measurements (height and max diameter in inches). It's made of a very good quality plastic, and it's very good for storing the toy. There aren't any instructions, but I don't think you really need instructions for this toy... except to cover it in lube, and then ram up butt. It also gives some care instructions and tells you what kind of lube to use. If you wanted to, I'm sure you could wrap it up and gift it, as it's shaped like a box, and it's fairly rigid.

Looks like a dangerous toy - especially shouldn't be marketed by the company for beginners! Thanks for the review and info about the inadequately sized base.
