Speed Bumps For My Pussy

The Sapphire Falls probe from SSA Glass is demure and elegant in appearance, but that's where its coy act ends. Each of its seven bubbles provide intense internal stimulation which will strike you as heavenly or hellish depending on yours tastes. Whether you love this toy or develop a bad case of the Sapphire Blues will rely strongly on your preferences when it comes to texture. Prefer lots of sensation? This is the probe for you!

extremely useful review
I immediately wishlisted Sapphire Falls when that giant batch of SSA glass dildos and probes hit Edenfantasys' cyber-shelves a few months ago. I own the Rombee from Feelztoys and the Bubbles probe from Jollies LLC and love them both for the intense stimulation they provide. Sapphire Falls looked like a nice new toy to feed my bubble-probe addiction, so I jumped at the first chance I had to cash in a gift card on one of these.

In reality I do love this probe. A lot. But not in the same way I have loved similarly shaped toys. It's not that I love it any less than Rombee or Bubbles. However, Sapphire Falls is unique because it's made out of (lovely) shatter-resistant Pyrex glass, making the swells and valleys in its design feel much different than they are with silicone. This gorgeous, deep cobalt blue (almost black, unless you hold it to the light) glass piece has none of the give of silicone probes. While its unforgiving density make it remarkably adept at locating my G-spot, it also makes it much more stimulating. The stimulation can be fantastic, but if you're not adequately lubed up and warmed up you may find yourself rubbed very uncomfortably.

SSA Glass did not go big with this probe, which was a very wise decision considering how stimulating it is. Edenfantasys lists this piece as being 6.5" from top to bottom but mine actually measured about 7" roughly. Keep in mind that when it comes to glass there can and often will be some variance. The widest point of my probe - which is the large bulb that forms the "base" - is a little less than 1.5" in diameter, while the diameter of the rest of the shaft oscillates back and forth between a half inch and a full inch across. The large bulb at the end is not meant to be inserted, but rather gripped like a handle.

While this is listed as an anal probe I never felt my "handle" was big enough for me to feel safe using it this way. Other reviewers have reported that they used theirs anally without any issue, but for me? The difference in width between the shaft and the base is not large enough, and I could very easily see this last bulb being pulled inside of me by the rectal muscles - which are very powerful! I just don't feel safe in doing it. A part of me thinks that its weight would keep it from traveling too far up, but heavier things have gotten stuck in people's booties so I'd rather not risk it. If you do use this anally? Do so carefully, and use as little lube as possible and keep any lubricant OFF of your base so you don't slip!

So clearly my probe did not see any use as any anal stimulator, but boy has it ever been put to work as a G-spotter. The first time I used it I followed my tried and true glass dildo protocol which simply entails becoming aroused first, then using my natural bodily lubrication to ease friction. Um. Not a good idea with this one! I quickly discovered that even though glass is a remarkably slick and smooth material that rarely needs much lube, a nickle sized dollop of silicone based lube made a WORLD of difference for this particular toy. Each bead or bubble tapers inward before fanning out into another bead, and I found my inner labia were tugged at and irritated by the rapid undulations. Without proper lubrication it felt like a bead would get "stuck" at the entry to my vagina and it was very unpleasant.

If you naturally lubricate a lot then you may not need any additional synthetic lube, but keep a little on hand just in case. Small as this thing is it can be painful if you intend to thrust rapidly with it. Also please keep in mind that glass is a very, very firm material that can bruise your cervix or leave you very sore if you aren't careful with it. If you're new to glass then go slow to find a pace and pressure that feels good and doesn't leave you hurting the next day! Glass is safe to use with water, silicone or oil based lubricants.
Experience
Once I was lubed up, I still found that rapid thrusting was out of the picture for me. It was just far too stimulating, especially to the spongy tissue that surrounds the urethra. I was able to figure out a comfortable pace after a couple of tries however. I have found that this toy often works better with a little additional stimulation at first - you may want to gently pinch your nipples, massage your clit or stimulate your anus in some way initially. This helps me ease into the intensity of the sensation. While performing this second form of stimulation I insert the probe shallowly and gently rock it up toward my G-spot without any thrusting. As I become increasingly aroused and assimilated to the sensations, I'm then able to thrust shallowly, although still not all too rapidly.

The just-right speed that I eventually settled on for thrusting with provides me with incredible orgasms. Most folks will tell you that once you experience the firmness of glass you realize it is capable of a certain something that soft materials just can't do. That something is hit your G/P spot with such intensity and precision with remarkably little effort. Even many my favorite silicone dildos usually require a lot of laboring and thrusting for me to cum with, but the Sapphire Falls I can just rock and lightly thrust with unless I reach an intense clamp-your-eyes-shut-and-clutch-the-sheets G-spot orgasm. I love using this toy while kneeling with my shins folded under me and my spine straight and erect. I can easily access my G-spot by working with gravity, and I also find I am more likely to squirt like this.

I really do love this thing even if it can be a little tricky to get the hang of. My only gripes with it are cleaning and storage related. Glass is very easy to clean because it is non-porous; you can lather it up with antibacterial soap and hot water for regular cleaning or wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution for a more thorough sanitizing. Of course, this toy has a bunch of little creases or "valleys" where body fluids and lube tend to get stuck. I've had to use Q-tips on quite a few occasions to clean this nooks, but this is a pretty small price to pay for an awesome orgasm.

My other (tiny) issue is that the red faux-velvet draw string bag that is included is a little on the flimsy side. I have another SSA Glass dildo and it came in a much roomier and slightly more padded bag that I far prefer. While this does provide a little bit of shock absorption for when and if this collides with something in storage, it's not very much. The bag is very, very thin. I'll likely grab an Eden Toy Pouch to replace this red one. Please keep in mind that your glass toy is safe to store with other toys, but you'll want to make sure it's protected so that it doesn't bang against something and break. Even if you stick it in a spare sock, make sure it's safe!
Follow-up commentary
I absolutely love this one. It doesn't see as much use as it deserves, but every now and again I find it while searching for a toy to mix up my routine. The bumps are incredible and they really force me to slow down and enjoy. It's also the only blue glass piece in my collection, and for the price, it's so stunning. If you're sensitive to a lot of texture, but you want to step up from plain old smooth glass, this is a great happy medium.

Thanks for the review! I love the color and I loved bulbed probes too. I have the Rombee but this would be a great addition to my glass toy collection.

honestly, i doubt your sigmoid colon is straight enough to handle something of such large size and weight and rigidity, Use it anally with little fear

and anyway, if something DOES get stuck up there its bound to come out naturally with time. unless its sharp, then why would you even put it up there to begin with?
