Black rose whipping willow - flogging toy by Doc Johnson - review by Mistress Jezebel

My first thought when I saw this whip online was how pretty it was. I'm a sucker for floggers and I LOVE this one aesthetically because black and purple are pretty much my favorite colors. When the flogger arrived, the first thing I noticed was the top of the handle's black rose. It did not look like a black rose at all but more like a misshapen wrinkly blob. I figured what the hell, little mistakes happen with production here and there so I put that little detail aside and took a moment to admire the whip. To the plain eye, this whip is very beautiful however, it was a big disappointment when it came to it's actual performance. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the flogger had arrived with one of the tails nearly hanging off, so I gave it negative points to begin with.

The whip's handle is very lightweight but for some reason, my hand kept slipping around the base of it before I even put it to use. My hands can get sweaty sometimes but that's after some heavy use on whips, I hadn't even begun to use it before my hand started slipping with minimal sweating. The quality was questionable and it smelled very strong. All in all i'd say the quality of the material was poor to say the least as little bits of what I can only describe as "fuzzballs" kept falling off of it as I was holding it in my hand. I'm usually not a big snob when it comes to floggers and hey, maybe I just got a bad egg from an otherwise good product but I was highly disappointed.

I was already apprehensive to use it but I decided to put it to the test. The flogger looks like it could actually cause some pain but yet again I was disappointed. My partner and I are very experiences with flogging and can usually work with most whips but the tails on this one were just too floppy. There was not the slightest bit of yield to it and the tails just drooped down whenever I tried to use it. They barely even stung my sub after numerous flogs in the same spot so we decided to give up on trying it fairly quickly as it was proving to be a vibe killer.

If this wasn't a lone case of a bad egg in the batch, I definitely do not recommend this to anyone but beginners and even then, you could probably put your money to better use with a different whip as this site offers PLENTY of great quality floggers at good prices. It's very rare that I'm SO greatly disappointed with a product but I guess it has to happen now and then.
