Flowered Friend by Don Wands is a glass dildo designed for vaginal penetration. It features a slight curve and many small bumps for added stimulation. While I suppose it could also be used anally, there is not much of a flared base, so be careful.

The toy can be used either by an individual or a couple. If a partner is going to be using it on you, make sure they know to be gentle so they don't inadvertently bruise you.

One of the many features of glass is that it's excellent for temperature play. You can warm up or cool down your Flowered Friend by placing it in a bowl with hot water or cold water with ice cubes, respectively. Do NOT put it in the freezer or microwave it; that's just asking for a mishap! Be kind to your glass toys, and they will be kind to you.

Glass ranks a "10" on Eden's safety scale, the highest rating possible. What makes it such a great material? Well, it's nonporous, meaning it won't hold on to nasty bacteria. It also doesn't contain chemicals that can be harmful to the body, such as phthalates. Even knowing this, some people are intimidated by glass, thinking it might break inside them. Rest assured that the type of glass used in sex toys is not fragile like a wine glass. It's a special type called borosilicate (better known as Pyrex.) It is highly resistant to breakage, and if it does break it will be in large chunks, not fragments. As a precaution though, it never hurts to check your glass toy before each use for any chips or cracks. Note: I have never had a glass toy break, and I've accidentally dropped them in my bathroom sink on several occasions.

We've discussed the safety benefits of glass; now let's discuss the one downside. That is, some people don't like it. It is hard and unforgiving, but bear in mind a rigid but smaller in size toy MAY be more comfortable for you than a large, "plush" silicone type toy. I've found this to be the case for myself. I really like the design of the Flowered Friend. As I previously mentioned, it's slightly curved, which helps to stimulate the g-spot. What I found even more stimulating was the pronounced head. You'll find that most glass dildos have this general shape, and it's a nice touch. Depending on whether your g-spot is shallow, closer to the vaginal opening or slightly deeper, you'll use the head or the curved shaft more. I like that the Flowered Friend is designed with both body types in mind.

The third feature on the Flowered Friend are the raised nubs, 30 in total, dotting the surface. To be frank, when I first saw the toy I thought it would be too much texture for me. I have some toys that are OVER stimulating to be the point of being almost painful. I was pleasantly surprised with the Flowered Friend. Far from causing any discomfort, the nubs provide JUST the right amount of texture. I would be willing to bet that all but the most texture-averse people will enjoy the feeling of the Flowered Friend.

Moving on from its practical aspects, the toy is absolutely beautiful. It comes in a choice of two colors, pink or blue. I ordered the pink, which is definitely a bit lighter than the product pictures. Inside the blunt end is a beautiful painted flower; for the pink version it is blue, yellow, and white.

The Flowered Friend measures 7.5" long, with approximately 6.5" being insertable. The circumference is 4". It is not an overly large toy, but keep in mind it is rigid, so it might feel bigger than it really is.

This toy is an absolute joy to use, and perfect for my body. While I have not yet learned to have a solely vaginal orgasm yet, I greatly enjoyed the feeling of the nubs and the bulbous head stroking my g-spot just so. For those like me, who need clitoral stimulation, I would recommend using a bullet or the head of your favorite vibrator on your clitoris while you use the Flowered Friend internally. When you cum, it will be more intense than if you stimulated your clitoris alone. As a side note, I also enjoyed rubbing my external parts with the shaft. I can't cum this way, but it sure feels good.

Glass is ridiculously easy to clean and care for. I recommend washing it with warm water and soap. Antibacterial versions aren't necessary; triclosan has been linked to cancer and reproductive disorders. Alternatively, you could wipe it with a sex toy or baby wipe, or run it through the dishwasher. You might think that lube and body fluids would gunk up around the nubs making it hard to clean, but fortunately it doesn't. Everything washes off with minimal effort.

As for storage, I keep mine in its original box in my EF tote bag. Eventually I want to get a padded bag to store it in, but for now the plastic clamshell and cardboard packaging keeps it sufficiently protected.

I really liked the packaging the Flowered Friend came in. It's a very snazzy black box with a cutout so you can see your toy. Inside, the toy rests in a clear plastic clamshell. There is some information on the box itself, such as features and how to clean the toy. There is also a QVC code for those with smartphones to look up more information. I'm not sure if the box is recyclable but it is just paper so I imagine so. The clamshell isn't coded.

Flowered Friend is a welcome addition to my glass collection. I will definitely be adding more pieces in the future, but for now this one has a place at the top of my toy bag.
