The Platinum Original is used primarily for vaginal use only. Due to the fact that this dildo has no base I do not recommend this for any anal use. If you do so use extreme caution. I cannot stop touching this dildo! It is hands down the best I've come in contact with so far. Made of Platinum silicone which is hypo-allergenic, easy-to-clean and 100% phthalate-free, the Doc Johnson Original Realistic Dildo is a must have for any collection. It's beautifully soft, yet firm enough for maximum pleasure. The veins run up and down the shaft of the dildo, and are very realistic to both look and touch. Material wise I think it would be great for both beginners and advanced users alike. The dildo is very flexible and has a little pit of plush, and a whole lot of firm for a full sensation.

The package boasted scent free on the package, I thought mine smelled a little of cherries, but I could just be going crazy. The feeling against your tongue is amazing, running it slowly up and down feels almost as great as the real thing as the veins tantalize your tongue and the textured head is once again amazing in this aspect.

Just because of the size (7 3/4" and 5 1/2" around) I would say it may not be the best size wise for beginners, but that all depends on the person. The beautiful, sparkly pink Doc Johnson Original Dildo features a textured head, my favorite part. Very realistic, plushy, and very satisfying - not too big and not too small. The wonderful veined sides adds a certain level of stimulation, but not enough to make me uncomfortable when it was inserted.

The only problem I had with this design is the fact it had no base, and while for the most part it wasn't a problem if you get too much lube towards the bottom it can become hard to hold onto. As mentioned earlier, no base means no anal play because without a flange this dildo can be drawn too far into the rectum to retrieve. I don't think this toy is very discreet or suitable for travel because of it's size, but if you had some sort of a pouch for it it would work just fine.

Best thing hands down about this toy is once again the textured head and slightly exaggerated veins on the side, when inserted the head provides a "pop" without being too large for comfort and gives you a nice full feeling. While inside you are treated to the vein edges, hard enough to stimulate and soft enough not to hurt and easily glide in and out. This is not harness compatible as it does not have a base, which is probably the only thing I would like to see changed.

Silicone toys have a tendency to attract lint due to static cling. Nonporous, the Platinum Original will clean easily under warm water and soap. Since your toy is waterproof soaking it in warm water will provide a very like-like feel. Silicone is smooth and nonporous, it can be fully disinfected by boiling it for 3 minutes or by throwing it into the top rack of your dishwasher.

Toys made from 100% silicone are compatible with water and oil based lubricants, both of which can be found in great variety on the site. Do not use silicone based lubricant with this toy as it may bond to the surface permanently.

Though not very discreet at all I thought the packaging was very simple and classy. I would not recommend this packaging for a gift or a storage box as it would be quite difficult to take out of the hard plastic each time.
