I dub thee Mr. Stiffee!

The Original (aka Mr. Stiffee) is the body-safe and firm silicone alternative to Mr. Softee. He's a lot of fun, but he might not be for the faint of heart!

Twin Dongs

This is a tale of two dongs, but a review of one. The Original by Doc Johnson (herein called Mr. Stiffee) is an updated clone of their classic toy, Mr. Softee. Mr. Softee was the very first sex toy I ever bought. I had no idea what I was getting into! He was much too large for my virginal (at the time) self, and it took me a while before I was able to actually use him. The pictured toy is actually my second Mr. Softee as the first one met unfortunate ends.

As my knowledge of body safe materials grew, I slowly realized that my old friend was not good for me. I was sad because I throughly enjoyed Mr. Softee's girth and texture. I had been keeping him purely out of nostalgia as the last time I took him out to play I was put off by the tackiness and odor compared to my silicone toys. When browsing EF recently, I discovered that Doc Johnson remade Mr. Softee in platinum silicone! I glanced over the reviews, but had already made up my mind to grab Mr. Stiffee. Him being on sale helped make the decision easier.

Those veins!

So pretty...

I've nicknamed The Original "Mr. Stiffee" because of how firm the silicone is compared to the rubber that made up Mr. Softee. The dildo itself is semi-realistic in that it has a defined glans and frenulum, but the veining is a bit more fantasy than reality. The veins, however, are a big draw for me and the new material makes them even better than before! The firmness of Mr. Stiffee will make the texture a turn-off for the sensitive. It can be rather intense and it is very noticeable when thrusting. The girth and bluntness of the head may also put this out of reach of some beginners.

Design / Shape / Size

Size Comparison between three toys

Mr. Stiffee is slightly larger than Mr. Softee and comparable to The Vamp. He may be a bit much for the uninitiated and will require a warm up. The head is not tapered at all and is nice and bulbous. This can make penetration a challenge, but the pay off when he does get in is grand. The bluntness coupled with the size and firmness can make Mr. Stiffee a bit of a mini battering ram.

The underside of the toy is smooth in contrast to the very veiny dorsal side. The only thing really adorning this side is the Doc Johnson stamp. A thing to note, the stamp on this one is recessed rather than the raised version that Mr. Softee sports. Be sure to make sure that this area gets clean when washing!

Performance

Squish!

No squish for you!

One of the big selling points on Mr. Softee was that he was very squishy. You could easily bend the toy, and the textures were toned down a bit by how plush he was. Mr. Stiffee is quite the opposite in that you can't bend him easily (think Tantus' The Vamp), and the vein texture intensity is ramped up quite a bit. If you desire a toy with more give, then you may want to pass this one up. As a glass lover, I'm enthralled with the redux on this toy. It's everything I wanted Mr. Softee to be and then some.

Mr. Stiffee, like Mr. Softee before him, is not harness compatible as he has no real base. Since he lacks a base, he is also not the best for solo anal play. If you choose to use him anally with a partner, then please take proper care to not let him get too deep since there is nothing to stop him from going fully into you or your partner. The lack of a base also makes it difficult at times to hang onto him when thrusting and also makes it hard to ride him. He can get a bit slippery when lubed up also.

Care and Maintenance

Silicone is easy to take care of! Simply wash him with warm water and soap. However, if you are going to use it both anally and vaginally or choose to share him with a partner, then I recommend boiling him for about 5 minutes to sanitize him completely. As mentioned previously, take special care when hand washing to clean up the Doc Johnson stamp area as fluids could get caught in there and missed. Boiling will eliminate this.

Be careful with lubricants as silicone based ones can make Mr. Stiffee very tacky. Always use water based lubes unless you know for certain a particular one is OK to use with silicone.

Storing Mr. Stiffee isn't bad at all. I keep mine bagged up in a toy box, but you could simply keep yours in a drawer. Just be aware that the silicone can attract dust and lint, so you may need to wash him off a bit before use.

Packaging

There is nothing discrete about a plastic package that you can clearly see a big pink dildo through! Unfortunately the packaging isn't very useful for storage either. You can, however, recycle it!

Experience

Mr. Stiffee!

I decided to try Mr. Stiffee out after toying around a bit with one of my glass pieces. I was curious just how different he would feel from Mr. Softee. When the head first popped in and I felt the first bit of veining I knew I had made a good choice. I could feel every delicious bit of texture when thrusting! Slow or fast didn't matter. I kept saying, "One more time!" I'm glad that Doc Johnson moved to the firmer silicone because the the frustrations I felt with Mr. Softee (buckling when penetrating, too soft to feel texture sometimes, hard to insert) were all gone.
