Confusing Name, Satisfying Ride

The Echo is another wonderful, intuitive dildo from Tantus that tickles all your most sensitive spots with the know-how of an old lover. Its texture can be quite intense, and even those of us that don't typically need may find ourselves reaching for the Maximus pump, but the sensations provided by the Echo are worth a little extra prep.

extremely useful review
You know, I fancy myself a pretty smart girl, but I cannot for the life of me figure out why this toy is called the Echo. I've turned it upside down and sideways and asked all my friends (well, all my friends that aren't weirded out by being interrogated about dildos) if there was a reference I wasn't getting but to no avail. All I can conclude is that the name is some kind of inside joke between the folks at Tantus Inc and resign myself to confusion. However, after many very lovely sessions with my new dildo this is the only point I really remain unhappy on. The name. You know you love a toy when the only con you can think of is that you can't figure out why it's got the name it has. The Echo is nearly perfect in my book and I am hard pressed to offer any substantial complaints.

This classic from Tantus is a perfect picture of moderation in terms of its size. It's a tad bit on the girthy side perhaps with an inch and a half of width, but with five and a half inches of insertable length most beginners and intermediate players will find this a very managable toy. Size lovers may be a bit bored by Echo's dimensions, however I think many will find that it makes up for any sensation it lacks due to size with its intense texture. The Echo features on of my most beloved of features: a pronounced, fat head with a nice round and protruding ridge.

With each thrust you get that wonderful pop! feeling of the initial penetration. Once inserted, the series of ripples throughout the shaft mimic (or echo?) the primary pop! feeling with smaller but no less delicious pops. Each time you slide this one in and out of your pussy or ass you get a dozen individual and very distinct sensations. The ridges of course can make rapid thrusting uncomfortable after a while and I have found that I need to use lube with this. Most dildos of this size I can get along with just my own natural lubrication, but the texture can make my vagina quite irritated without some help reducing friction.

Made from 100% silicone, the Echo is also a very durable toy that is easy to care for, clean and share and has no inherent scent, taste or smell. Silicone is non-porous meaning that microbes cannot be absorbed into the toy, but can only collect on the surface. By simply sanitizing the surface with a 10% bleach solution or boiling for 3-4 minutes in water, your toy will be ready to use even after anal or sharing with a non-fluid bonded partner. For solo use where you are not switching from anal to vaginal, you can lather your Echo with some anti bacterial soap and warm water for an adequate daily cleaning.

Echo has a base that is broad enough to be safe for anal use and to fit snugly into most harnesses. The dildo has a hole drilled into the flared base that accommodates a small bullet vibe which is included. The vibrations are quite surface and buzzy, and they also fail to travel very well to the tip of the toy, but it does add a tiny bit of stimulation which never hurts. If you're interested in making the most of this potential for vibration, I would recommend the Hollow Points bullet or the High Intensity Bullet. Both of these bullets will fit in the Echo and also provide stronger vibration with more setting options (the included bullet only has one setting.)

My only real issue with this dildo is with the base/bullet hole. The hole tore around the edge during fairly tame use in my ASLAN Jaguar harness. This is because the base is very thin and flimsy and is therefore much more vulnerable to tearing. I would recommend you be careful when thrusting heavily or using in a harness because of this. As you can see in the video, the tear is quite small and doesn't really effect the toy but a small tear can become larger.

Overall, I really love this toy. I do wish that Tantus would re-think its penchant for thin bases, but otherwise this is a wonderful and highly sensational dildo. If you need intense pressure on your G or P spot to enjoy penetration this may not be for you, but if you do like mild pressure and intense texture then you will love this. I admit I tend to prefer sharply curved cocks to pin straight ones, but the ridges provide a really unique sensation that none of my other toys do.
Follow-up commentary
I find myself avoiding this thing because of how flimsy the base is and how tricky that makes holding this thing and thrusting with it. I've had this problem with a few wonderful Tantus toys and it kind of makes me want to throw my toys out the window with frustration. On top of the inconvenience of the damn thing slip-sliding out out my hands so often, the little tear on the bullet cavity has grown a bit and too much bending of the base will just make it worse. It's a bit of a predicament.

All I can say is I'm glad that Tantus doesn't seem to be using this flimsy bases as often any more, although that doesn't help me in the meantime with my poor Echo. I try to reserve it for special occasions when I am feeling patient and in a insert-and-gently-rock or insert-and-leave-alone kind of mood with my dildos. Still feels wonderful, just a bit tedious.

Thanks for the review, I've been looking at this one for a while and wasn't sure what I thought. I usually lean towards slimmer toys but lately have been getting a bit bored.. maybe this'll be my go-to for sizing up

I wonder if you can fill it with something to make the base more sturdy.

Nice review. How firm is the silicone? My wife and I have the VIP, which is the same size, but the VIP is way too firm for her.

Yesss! Good to hear that it might be overly textured for some people. I loooove texture.

Good review. I'm pretty sure that it's named because the head is "repeated" down the shaft like an "echo"...just my take on it, though

I was worried about the thin base too... but it actually tore for you? And the texture on it looks like so much fun for pegging! That's really too bad.

Great review! I think they don't offer the gorgeous copper color you got, but this is definitely going on my list. The texture seems like a lot of fun.
