Mostly resounding praise for the Echo.

I would recommend the Echo to anyone who likes sensation and a good, durable toy. Three years after I bought it, my toy shows no visible signs of deterioration or wear. It is not overly large or small and should satisfy the average user who wants g-spot or p-spot stimulation and a textured, ridged toy.

Tantus has made a solid, durable product, and although I find that their bullet vibes lack in speed and durability, this should not deter anyone who is looking for a high-quality dildo.

Use

This toy can be used for vaginal or anal penetration. The included bullet vibe can be removed and used for clitoral or other stimulation, or placed in the hole in the base of the dildo. The bullet features only one button and would be simple for beginners to use.

The Echo is harness-compatible and has a small flared base. The base is flexible enough that I was easily able to bend it until the two opposite edges touched one another, but in my opinion it is wide enough that there is not much of a risk of losing the toy if used anally.

Material / Texture

The Echo is made of a glossy silicone with a smooth texture. I have never detected any sort of smell, offensive or otherwise, coming from this dildo. It does attract dust and sticks to the plastic bag that I use for storage, but that is to be expected from the material.

Although this toy is firm and does not "squish" much when I squeeze it, I am still able to bend it in half with minimal effort. It flops back and forth a bit when I set it onto a table or flat surface, but is firm enough that it stands freely without falling over.

Design / Shape / Size

The first things you will notice about this toy's design are the six pronounced ridges on the front side of the toy, resembling the head echoed down the length of the shaft. The opposite side features a vertical ridge that runs the length of the toy. If you love toys with a lot of ridges and resulting sensation, the Echo would be good for you.

My Echo is a peacock blue color that has since been discontinued. However, the colors that Tantus still currently makes are attractive as well. The Echo features 5 1/2" of insertable length and a circumference of 4 3/4". While the size is not excessive to take vaginally, it could be too large for beginners to take anally; either way, this toy would make a good second or third toy since beginners might not be accustomed to or like the ridged texture.

Performance

I have not found much use for the bullet vibe. It runs on three watch batteries, is weak, and has only one speed, and that speed is not strong enough. It might be fine if you do not require strong vibrations to get off, but you're probably better off detaching the bullet vibe and using it that way. Note that if you do decide to use the bullet with this toy, make sure that you lube up the opening in the base of the toy beforehand. Otherwise, it's likely to get stuck and you'll go through a lot of aggravation trying to get it out.

Since I have had this toy for over three years, the original bullet that came with my Echo broke a long time ago (I don't remember exactly how long I had it, but I didn't use it very often). For the purposes of this review, I substituted the bullet that was included with my Rascal.

The toy, itself, is another story. Personally, I love the ridges, and the feeling that they provide me is incredible. They are good for thrusting, since you can really feel them as they slide in and out, creating a drag against your g-spot/p-spot. The toy is flexible enough that the ridges do not poke me or hurt in any way, even if I thrust moderately or not-so-moderately hard with this.

Care and Maintenance

Since this toy is made of silicone, cleaning it is very easy. I simply wash it after each use with antibacterial soap and water, and then dry it with a paper towel before putting it away. Silicone can also safely be boiled in hot water, cleaned with a 10% bleach solution, or put in the dishwasher, but I have not tried any of these options.

I have always used a water-based lube with this toy. Be careful not to use a silicone-based one with the Echo, as such lubes are not compatible with silicone toys and could destroy the toys. I have heard that you should not store silicone toys next to one another, but I store mine in plastic bags and have never had any issues with the toys getting disfigured or anything else.

Follow-up commentary
This toy is still a staple in my toybox even after I have now had it for several years. Granted the bullet doesn't work anymore, but the toy still looks brand new, and still feels great in use. Kudos to Tantus for making a great, long-lasting toy.

I'll echo what you said. This is a great and long lasting toy. We've had ours for 2 years and it looks as good as new.

Argh, not only does the bullet use watch batteries, but it can get stuck without lube? Sounds like a nightmare.
