I surrender to you, Serenity!

Doc Johnson's Reflections Serenity is a double ended glass dildo curved just right for g-spotting. With a larger bulb on one side and a smaller one on the other, there's something fun for every user regardless of experience. This toy could also be safely used anally because the larger ball provides a "stopping point" or base. As with any glass toy, be careful while trusting to avoid cervical injury.

The Serenity is made from Tempered or Pyrex glass, which rates a 10 on Eden's material safety scale. Glass is hypo-allergenic, latex and phthalates free, and non-porous. There is no taste, smell or texture to the toy. Glass is also very firm and inflexible, so be careful when thrusting. As always, check glass toys for chips, cracks and scratches before each use.

Others have compared the Serenity's design to Njoy's Pure Wand. There are two differently sized bulbs, one on each end, with a curved shaft in the middle. Though the Serenity's curve is gentler than the Pure Wand's, the Serenity is a more affordable (and lighter) alternative for those who can't afford the steel toy. The look of the toy is not entirely discreet, though it doesn't resemble your average dildo. The toy can also be traveled with if properly protected.

The Serenity's curve was designed with g-spot play in mind. With the larger end, a rocking motion might be more preferred, but thrusting is still achievable. The large bulb also makes a great handle for those who are intimidated or can't handle the larger side internally. Because it is double ended and has bulbs on each end, this toy is not harness compatible.

Caring for the Serenity is simple and easy. Wash with soap and water, toy cleaner or wipes, alcohol or a bleach solution. Glass is also top-rack dishwasher safe, just be sure to use no detergent or one that is specifically for glass (so as not to leave residue) and lower the temperature. Every type of lube is also safe to use with this toy and it is easy to store. No storage pouch is included, but you can make or purchase one.

The Serenity comes in a non-discreet plastic box. The toy itself sits inside a clear plastic tray molded to hold the toy securely. The outer plastic box is not entirely see-through. The name of the product and manufacturer is on the front surrounded by hearts, circles, spirals and other designs. The shape of the toy is outlined in white and the inside is left clear so you can see the toy itself. The side says 'Sensual glass shapes for sexual satisfaction' in English and several other languages. On the back, it says 'The art of glass meets the science of pleasure. Doc Johnson presents the world's first truly premium, sensual glass, in a generous 7" length. Designed by sculptural artisans in vibrant, jewel-tone hues, they're phthalate free, completely hygienic and easy to clean. Again, the packaging is not discreet in the least. It is perfectly fine for gift giving, but I would personally store the toy in a padded pouch instead of the plastic box.

Because it is rather expensive, I have no hopes of acquiring Njoy's Pure Wand. But I purchased the Serenity because of its similarity to the Pure Wand and because of its nicely rounded head that reminds me of my favorite toy, the Icicles No. 17. The Serenity has a nice weight to it and a gentle curve, so I actually don't want the Pure Wand anymore!

At first, I wasn't sure if I could handle the large head. It is a half inch larger in circumference than the No. 17, and many reviews stated that it was just too big for them. But, of course, I was gonna give it a go anyway. I didn't really warm up before using the Serenity. I just did my daily 10 minute exercises with my Energie, but I wasn't all that aroused. I didn't even bother with lube (as I usually don't need any), I just wanted to see if I could insert it. And it slid right in! The large head settled right where I needed it and stayed there. Because of its size though, there wasn't a whole lot of room to really thrust with it. I was still able to manage a bit despite the larger head's size. My g-spot responds better to very shallow thrusting (like tapping) rather than rocking, so I didn't need much thrusting room anyway.

Getting the larger head out was more of a problem than getting it in was. My vagina clamped around it, not wanting to let go. A firm (but gentle) tug got it out though. And obviously the smaller head is just as much fun to play around with (vaginally or anally). This toy also feels great while just clenching or bearing down on the large head while using an external clit vibe.

I would definitely recommend the Serenity to anyone who prefers round headed toys over pointy ones. Or anyone looking for a cheaper alternative to the Pure Wand.
