O2 Mark - realistic dildo discontinued by Tantus - review by PepperPot

I was on the market for a new silicone dildo when I found the O2 Mark by Tantus. As a longstanding fan of Tantus products, I was intrigued by the realistic look and purported life-like qualities of the O2 dual-density silicone line. Tantus offers a number of realistically and abstractly styled O2 dildos, but Mark was clearly the one for me. After weeks of salivating over him, I decided to take the plunge. I couldn't be happier!



The O2 Mark boasts all the usual advantages of other Tantus dildos:

+ Versatile: Mark's shape, size, texture, and dual-density O2 silicone are perfect for oral, vaginal, anal, and gender play, with or without a partner, with or without a harness. I own several silicone dildos from Tantus, but the O2 Mark is really in a league of its own. When I first held Mark's shaft in my hand, I was immediately struck by the contrast I felt between the dildo's softer, outer "skin" and its firmer interior core. In combination, the two layers of silicone mimic the feel of a live penis surprisingly well, with just the right amount of give to the skin. The firm inner core runs the length of the shaft, but the head of the dildo is made entirely of the softer silicone material. The surface of the dildo's head has a glossy finish, whereas the finish on the shaft is more matte. The slicker, plusher head means that the O2 Mark slides inside more easily when inserted, and it is more comfortable than conventional silicone dildos during vigorous thrusting. The extra "give" of the dual-density silicone and a flared base make O2 Mark quite comfortable for anal penetration, whether for beginning and advanced users. The odorless, tasteless platinum silicone mean this dildo is perfect for oral play. Three cheers for Mark!





Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to compare the Tantus O2 silicone to VixSkin, but if I ever do, I will be sure to post a follow-up review. In most discussions I've followed regarding the differences between the two, many people seem to prefer VixSkin, so my interest is piqued. Nevertheless, it's hard to imagine being happier with a dildo than I have been with the O2 Mark.

In the past I have preferred toys that were more abstract in styling, but I couldn't resist the appeal of Mark's perfect curves. In fact, the only difficult decision I made when purchasing the O2 Mark was what color to choose. In the photos provided by Tantus, the Caramel color looked darker than my own skin tone, but the Vanilla option looked too light. I finally chose the Vanilla color, joking to my partner that I had bought a "ghost penis," but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw Mark in person. Although the color is still lighter than my own skin tone, the difference is not as stark as I had imagined from the photos (I have adjusted the color in my own photographs to more accurately reflect Mark's color, but individual screen displays still may vary). Overall, I find the color very pleasing, and I enjoy the surface detailing Tantus has included--the shape and curve of the shaft, subtly raised veins, and a glossy head with just the right amount of additional girth. The measurements provided by EF are accurate--6.25" total length, with a shaft circumference of 4.75" and an insertable length of 5.5":





The O2 Mark's more realistic size, while potentially a disappointment to some, was perfect for me. With Mark I can thrust with abandon, without being worried about bumping my cervix or bruising myself, and the slight curve of the dildo, with its plush head, rubs all the right places when buried deep inside me. If you prefer a fuller, thicker shaft, or deeper penetration, there are definitely better dildos for you in the Tantus O2 line (see, for example, the Adam, or for a less realistic version, the Revolution). In truth, I was looking for a dildo that would closely match my favorite penis in the world, and everything about the Mark was spot-on... but I am almost certainly biased in this regard.

When I took the O2 Mark out of the box, I was surprised at how excited I immediately became just by looking at it. Until I saw this dildo, I had never understood the appeal of a realistic design; and yet, just seeing Mark and squeezing the shaft in my hand had me trembling with excitement. With a little water-based lubricant, Mark's plush, glossy head slid easily between my labia, and before long I had the dildo buried to the hilt. The dual-density silicone more closely mimics a live penis than any another other material I have experienced, and the combination of slow stroking, grinding, and deep thrusting it allowed was exhilarating. Before using Mark, I ran the dildo under warm water to heat the inner core and make the sensations during penetration even more realistic.





Before long, the O2 Mark had delivered four powerful orgasms in fairly quick succession, forcing me to cry out with pleasure in the process. In truth, my orgasms with conventional silicone dildos are usually more mundane, and they certainly don't provoke the kind of reaction I had today. I was completely taken by surprise. Standing up from the bed, I even found my legs were even a bit unsteady.

High-quality silicone toys like the O2 Mark are relatively simple to clean and maintain. If you're planning to share your toy, or to switch between oral, vaginal, or anal sex, ensure that the toy is properly sterilized. Between individual users and / or orifices, you can immerse the dildo in a 10% bleach solution bath, boil it for 5-10 minutes, or put it in the top rack of your dishwater for a hot water cycle (no detergent). You can also use a condom to cover the toy, but you must use a new one for each new partner or sex act. When using a silicone toy for anal penetration, I usually cover it with a condom, just to be extra careful, and then wash it with anti-bacterial soap before replacing it in its own separate box. I store silicone toys separately from each other and other silicone products, and never use anything other than a thick, water-based lubricant, since contact between different silicone products can damage the toy.

The packaging from Tantus usually leaves something to be desired, and the box for the O2 Mark is no exception. The box is a typical, clear plastic Tantus box, which very obviously displays the dildo for all to see, so it may be best to store it out of sight if you prefer to be more discreet. The plastic box is also cumbersome and somewhat difficult to open. It's snot the best storage box, especially if you need to get your hands on Mark right away (I was in such a hurry to get it on with Mark, I left the dishwasher door wide open and the kitchen s mess as I rushed off to the bedroom. Only later did I discover the disarray I had left in my wake). Like other O2 products, Mark will attract lint and fuzzies, so it should be carefully stored, and perhaps wrapped in a fabric like satin. I haven't yet decided what's best for me, to be honest, since I expect Mark will be seeing almost daily action.
