Ruby G - classic glass g-spot dildo by EdenFantasys - review by Envy

When I saw the simplicity that was the Ruby G, I knew I had to try it. I never tried a glass dildo before and I was eager to know and understand the hype about owning and using one. Being I had just recent gone on to Advanced, I requested this baby to try and was happily accepted.

First off, the pictures on the site are true to the real color of this toy. Despite being called the Ruby G, it's actually more of a dark orange color. Like rust. Or burnt sienna. It's also somewhat see-through and in some cases you might be able to see little bubbles in the dildo. Don't worry, these bubbles do not affect the integrity of the toy, nor are they on the surface of the toy to cause any problems--it is completely smooth.

Constructed of Pyrex glass, the Ruby G is non-porous, odor free, sterilizeable, and compatible with all lubricants. So rejoice at not having to worry about what lubes to use or not use! Due to the material, you can even heat this toy up or cool it down for temperature play and have a unique experience. Clean up is a snap, just wash it in warm soapy water. You can also wipe it down in a 10% bleach solution or pop it into the dishwasher on the top rack. Just do be careful not to drop this dildo. It won't shatter like glass but will break off into large chunks. If the toy becomes cracked or damaged at all, discontinue use for your own safety. It is highly doubtful this toy can be broken during normal everyday use, so no worries there.

The Ruby G comes packaged in a nice little drawstring storage back. On the outside is faux suede in black which is very soft to the touch, and the inside is rose colored satin. The bag is not well padded so do take care not to drop it with the toy inside. If you want something with more padding to protect the dildo I suggest looking into another bag of your choice. It also helps in hiding this toy as it's not exactly discreet.

Now, being made of glass means this toy is rigid and will not bend to your body. If you do not like rigid toys, this may not be for you. The Ruby G is completely textureless and smooth with a diameter of about 1 inch, the bulb at one end being about 1 1/4 inches, the other tip curved for g-spot massage, and is 8 inches long. It is feasible to use this for p-spot massage as well due to the bulb acting like a flare to prevent it from being sucked up inside the body, however I do caution against this and ask that if you are going to use this toy anally make sure you have a good grip or a partner who can help hold it.

Due to the size, this toy would be perfect for beginners, especially those who are just starting to explore the world of glass sex toys. However, if you want something a little more girthier I suggest looking elsewhere. And due to the design, this toy is perfect for solo use and even couples use, though because glass is so rigid do make sure not to be rough in the usage of the dildo as it can and may bruise the pubic bone if it catches or the cervix if it's hit against it too forcefully.

I was very excited for this toy due to it being my first glass dildo. The color isn't exactly my cup of tea, but it's growing on me. I would have preferred if it was actually red, though, not orange. Or maybe even a lovely green or blue.

During use I noticed how slim it was to me. I'm used to girths of at least 1 1/4 inch diameter or more, so 1 inch felt small. I also wish the curved tip stuck out more, or have the whole toy curved. Because it was straight and the fact my g-spot is so high up and hooked drastically into me, I had to push this toy down a lot to hit it. Minor inconvenience for me, however, and due to the fact this toy isn't overly weighty it wasn't too much a problem on my wrists. The fact it was straight made thrusting very easy however, something I really ended up liking. I was also tempted to use the handle end of this toy since technically it can be double-ended, but since it's not curved it would have missed my spot completely so I never went that far.

I do have one major issue with this toy and that is the fact there's no indication of when the tip shifts inside. I had to completely remove the dildo to check and see when the curved end shifted, readjust, and then reinsert. I did this often. Well, more like a LOT. It got annoying fast, especially when I was close to the edge and then had to stop because it shifted. It makes me wish there was some sort of design or dimple on the handle, that way I would know which way was up and which way was down. Or just having the toy slightly curved.

Overall it's a lovely toy. Not one I will use all the time, but it is nice for a bit of something different. It just has a few minor issues that deter me from it somewhat at this point in time.

I have really tried to like this thing, but the lack of girth (to me) and the fact there's no indicator of it pointing up or down really frustrates me. The ball end was nothing too special due to the fact I need a curve to hit my spot more, and the small end, while great for thrusting, is always a pain to keep adjusting every 15 seconds or so. Sometimes my frustration led to not finishing and leaving me glaring at the thing, like the puppy you love and want to adore but keeps peeing on your favorite rug.
