New wave - double ended dildo by Fun Factory - review by Femme Mystique

This futuristic double dildo was designed with couples in mind. It can be used both vaginally and anally by female-female couples as well as female-male and male-male. It can be used in a variety of different positions and because there are two different ends, it can be used by texture lovers, texture haters, people with G-spots, and people with P-spots. If you don't like sharing, this makes an excellent solo toy too, and you can use either end for this purpose, depending on your mood.





The Wave can be used in the water or on dry land and could make a very fun addition to bath time. This toy is best for anyone who enjoys gentle thrusting and being close to their partner, uninhibited by a harness to separate you.

The wave is made of 100% silicone and has no discernible smell. The silicone is a matte texture and is very smooth, although the toy has very faint seams that run along the top and bottom. I did not find the seams to be at all noticeable, however. The silicone is firm but not rigid, and it does have a little bit of squish to it, but not a lot. The silicone in the two ends is noticeably firmer, however, than the silicone in the center. The flexible center allows the toy to bend and flex, which is important for a toy that you're thrusting against.





Though the silicone isn't sticky or tacky, it does attract hair, lint, dust bunnies, tumbleweeds, and small woodland creatures, so you'll probably want to wash it before and after use. This toy should not be used with silicone-based lubes. Water-based lubes are ideal to be used with The Wave.

This toy is very large, at 13" from end to end at the top. The centers at the base of the toy are approximately 6" apart. The design is kind of a W shape, with one end having small waves and the other end being smooth with a bulbous head. The smooth end is approximately 6" insertable from the valley of the W to the rounded end. The tip on the smooth end is barely tapered and is 1-5/8" at the widest point, making insertion a little tricky. You will want to be pretty warmed up and use a generous amount of water-based lube. I found insertion of the smooth end to be slightly uncomfortable at first, but the smooth end felt great once I got the tip in. The tip provides some G spot pressure, but those who find they need a more severe curve or a lot of pressure to derive G spot stimulation may not find it in this toy.





The smooth end also has a clitoral bump that protrudes from the center part of the W. When thrusting against this, the clit makes contact with the bump, which happened to be in the right position on the toy for me, though it may not work for everyone.





The wavy end is about 5-1/2" insertable and about 1-3/8" in diameter. The waves on the textured end are soft and rounded rather than pointy and I was able to derive G spot stimulation from this end better than the smooth end, though your mileage may vary. I'm not a person who generally likes a ton of texture, and with fast thrusting, the waves on this end can kind of be sensory overload, but slow thrusting feels great with this toy, as each wave can be felt very distinctly. This end varies from the smooth end also because it doesn't have a clitoral bump, which would have improved the experience from my perspective.

This is the first truly harness-free double dildo I've ever successfully used. We tried this in a few different positions together and I also tried it solo. Lying next to each other was somewhat successful, though neither of us could get enough leverage against the center piece in this position. Considerably more successful was using this with one partner sitting or lying down and the other partner facing, with legs interwoven ("scissors" position). One or both partners thrusts against the center in this position. We also enjoyed adding vibrators to the equation, as pressing a vibrator against the center caused vibrations to transmit through both ends.

We did find that it is hard in any position to get enough leverage for major movement of either end. The center is perhaps a little too flexible and absorbs much of the thrusting. This toy will be better enjoyed by people who like less movement internally. Overall, however, we found this to be a really fun toy that allowed us to experience mutual stimulation and the kind of closeness you don't get when you use a harness.

This toy should be used with water-based or oil-based lubricants only and is not compatible with silicone-based lubes. To care for it, wash with soap and water, throw in the dishwasher (top shelf, no detergent), use 10% bleach solution, or, if you have a giant cauldron lying around, this can be boiled. keep in mind, this is 13", so you're probably better off with one of the other cleaning options.

The box this comes in is huge. It's 15" long and not at all discreet, as it has a photo of the toy and a picture of a lesbian couple on the front. It is tastefully done, however, as Fun Factory's packaging tends to be. The packaging is cardboard and can be recycled.
