Mona - g-spot vibrator discontinued by LELO - review by Sammi

I love rechargeable vibrators and bright colors. Together, they are a fantastic combination – what more could a girl want? So when I got the chance to review Mona in red (she also comes in purple) I was ecstatic.

Mona comes in a large colored box with a picture of her on the front and product information on the sides. Inside is the signature black Lelo box. Lift the lid and Mona greets you. She’s encased in plastic on a cardboard sleeve. A small loop lets you lift her out of the box. Below are a slim-line plug power adapter, black satin drawstring storage bag, warranty and guarantee information, and an instruction manual.

Once Mona’s in your hand you’ll want to caress her. She’s firm to the touch and wonderfully smooth. Her red portion has a matte finish, which contrasts nicely with her shiny white base. Her ergonomic shape makes her a pleasure to hold. Mona’s insertable portion is made of silicone, while her base is made of ABS plastic. Both of these materials are body-safe: non-porous, phthalates-free, hypoallergenic and latex-free.

Mona is 8” long measured straight from tip to bottom, with an insertable length of 4”. Her pointed tip flares out to 1 1/2" before narrowing to her 1” neck. The tip and flare are meant for both g-spot and clitoral stimulation and excel at both.

Her features are controlled by four buttons on the front of her base: up and down arrows, and -. To turn Mona on press for about 1 second. Mona will start in a low, steady vibration. Pressing again will increase the intensity, and pressing – will decrease it. It will also turn Mona off.

In the steady modes, Mona had a deep intense vibration with a pleasant pitch. Pressing the up arrow will launch Mona into her other stimulation modes:
- medium pulse
- fast pulse
- rev from low to high (repeats)
- roller coaster (repeats)
- melodius mode

The last mode is hard to describe. It’s a combination of pulses and steady vibration and sounds like Mona is singing.

What’s especially nice about the stimulation modes is that they can be used on every vibration setting. You can also change the vibration level while Mona is on any pattern. This gives Mona great variety, and it’s fun to find the vibrations and mode that work best for orgasm. She also has a locking mode, which makes Mona great for travel.

Mona is charged by lifting the silicone flap on her base bottom and inserting the plug into her socket until you feel a small click. Mona’s LED light will be white and will pulse to indicate she’s charging. When fully charged, her LED will glow steadily white. When in use, if Mona’s charge is running low her LED light will glow red.

Mona uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and she will give you 4 hours of use from a 2 hour charge. She will remain charged if not used for up to 90 days.

Mona is one of the quietest vibrators I have. She’s not as loud as my vibrating cell phone, and can’t be heard from a few feet across the room. She operates at 120 Hz, and has a maximum loudness of less than 50Db. When she’s on high, she becomes a bit higher pitched, but she’s still incredibly quiet.

Mona is not waterproof, so care should be taken when cleaning her. She should be cleaned both before and after use. Her red area can be washed with warm water and antibacterial soap and patted dry. Her base should be cleaned with a damp soapy cloth and wiped dry. It’s best to clean Mona when she’s in travel mode so she doesn’t accidentally turn on. Never clean Mona with abrasive cleansers or anything containing alcohol, petrol, or acetone.

She should never be submerged in water, and care should be taken around her charger socket and buttons. If water does get in the socket, water should be blown out and the socket let to dry completely before attempting to recharge her.

Mona should be stored in her storage bag or box. She should never be left in direct sunlight, nor exposed to heat or other toys. Only water based lubricants should be used on Mona, as silicone lubes can make her red surface permanently sticky to the touch.

Mona is just fantastic. She’s got the power and the design to consistently take me to orgasm. She’s the best Lelo I’ve used to date. I’m definitely in love.

PERSONAL COMMENTS
Mona’s 1 year warranty covers her working parts, but not her cosmetic features. Her 10 year guarantee states that if anything goes wrong with Mona at any time in the 10 years you own her, you can return her for disposal, and Lelo will give you 50% off your next order from their web store.

While other Lelo products had a layer to rest the toy on in the box, Mona’s box does not. Instead, she can be placed in her storage bag and nestled through the box divider groove to store her in the box with her charger and booklets, if desired.

Mona should not be charged for more than 24 hours as she may overheat, possibly damaging the charger or herself. Mona comes charged, so she’s ready to use right out of the box.

Mona has a has a locking mode, which makes her great for travel. She can be locked by pressing the + and – buttons together for about 5 seconds until the blue LED lights and goes dark. When Mona has reached her destination, she can be unlocked by pressing both buttons again for 5 seconds. She can also be unlocked by charging.


EXPERIENCE

I was thrilled that Mona came charged and ready to use. There’s nothing worse than having to wait 2 hours for a toy you’re dying to try! Mona’s buttons were easy to push, and I didn’t have any trouble figuring out which to press when I was using her. Her high, steady vibration worked the best for me when I used her clitorally, but I loved her pulse and melodious modes internally.

I found her tip to work well externally. Since she’s rigid, I could get the pressure I needed. Internally, Mona’s head was firm enough and the right angle to hit my g-spot. She felt best being thrust hard and short. I didn’t have any problems with hitting buttons by mistake, which I was worried about initially – they are fairly easy to press. I loved how wide her head is – it created a feeling of fullness along with g-spot stimulation that was beyond pleasant.

My husband also liked Mona. He found her easy to hold on to, and although his strokes were longer than what I used alone, he was able to manipulate her just right for me.

I really love Mona! She's one of my favorites, mostly because of her shape. I really like the way she flares out - she's much more filling than other Lelo toys I have, like Gigi. She really hits my g-spot, and I love her vibration patterns. She gets a fair amount of use clitorally as well, and I think she shines at both.

I also love her color. Red isn't a toy color I have a lot of, but it really makes her more appealing.

I do wish she could be left in to charge without worrying about overcharging her. I also wish I could take her in the bathtub. Those things aside, however, she is just about perfect, and I'd still highly recommend her.
