K-Y yours and mine - lubricant discontinued by K-Y Brand - review by Various

KY Yours and Mine is a water based lube designed for couples, but I see no rules saying that you could not use it for solo play as well. These lubes come in two 1.5 fl oz bottles, with a connecter to keep the two tubes together. You can use this lube on the inside, as well as the outside of a condom, but the instructions state to only use latex condoms with this product.

The first of the two bottles is the blue ‘Yours’ bottle that is intended for males. This bottle has very almost no scent, but if you get close enough it almost has an oily like smell to it. The second bottle is the purple ‘Mine’ bottle intended for females. Unlike the Yours bottle, this one has a distinct smell of peppermint. When you combine these the smell is almost indescribable and I don’t mean this in a good way. My partner said he thinks it smells like petroleum jelly, which I can almost agree with.

I was really disappointed in how watery the lubricant was. The instructions state to apply one to two drops, but the lubricant is so thin that when you turn the bottle slightly it just flows out on its own free will! I also really didn’t like the feel of these lubes. They are almost greasy and a little sticky at the same time. They also dry out pretty quickly, so keep them close, because you may have to reapply them a time or two…or twelve.

I am lucky to have an understanding partner, because when he applied the Mine to me I laughed. Now, I don’t mean the giggly little lets have fun laugh, I mean the rolling on the bed with tears coming out of your eyes laughing. Was I laughing at his technique? Oh no, I was laughing at the sensation my vagina was feeling. I wouldn’t say it was unpleasant, but it caused an intense warm and tingly feeling that I’m not sure I would like to experience again. Within 30 seconds, the feeling faded a little and I was able to apply the Yours to my partner. Unfortunately he didn’t feel anything besides a slippery penis. We waited a moment for it to ‘kick in’ but it never did.

It is advertised ‘The sensations will heighten during intimacy', but that didn’t happen for us. Within about 10 minutes I actually started feeling irritated with the tingling sensation and my poor partner didn’t feel anything until after we were done! Even then he said it only felt a little bit warm, but not stimulating in any way.

Ultimately we decided the KY Yours and Mine would be better off in our trash can, because we have no plans of ever using it again.
