Oh Rondo, You're So Soft

The Rondo claims to stimulate both a woman's G-spot and clitoris at the same time, but falls a little short on that promise. It does however do a great job at pleasing one or the other at one time. The controls are easy to use and figure out, and you should get a few hours of play on one charge. The vibrations are going to be strong enough for most, but those who need really strong vibrations might want to look elsewhere.

Use

The Rondo was designed to be something resembling a rabbit; where you would get stimulation to the G-spot and the clitoris at the same time. Unfortunately the curve of the handle isn't quite extreme enough to do both at the same time; at least it won't for most women. Otherwise it lends itself well to vibrating just about anywhere you'd want to put it, even anally since the large(ish) looped handle will keep your behind from swallowing anything it shouldn't.

Material / Texture

The Rondo is made of two different materials, silicone and plastic. The plastic is hard and has a soft velvety finish to it. It's white, and does seem like the kind to pick up dyes and become stained eventually.

The silicone is soft, matte, velvety smooth, and quite the lint magnet. It has a good bit of drag to it and a slight bit of plushiness. Right out of the box it smells a lot like the foam it was kept in and will likely pick up the scents of things it comes in contact with like flavored lubes or scented soaps. If it picks up a scent that you're less than fond of, clean it really well and then let it air out for a few days.

There is also a visible seam that runs along the middle of both the top and bottom of the shaft. It's easy to feel with your finger, but wasn't noticeable at all in the vagina.

Design / Shape / Size

The design is reminiscent of that of the Fun Factory Delight, only without as prominent of a curve. The Rondo slopes gently with more of a 45 degree angle. On one end is a closed loop handle that also features the controls. The hole in the handle is big enough to allow two of my fingers in up to the second knuckle, but those with larger fingers might only be able to make it in to the first. From there you meet the silicone portion and slope down towards the end.

From tip to tip measured across the side of the toy, Rondo is about 8 1/4" long. If you continue to measure that way you'll get an insertable section of about 5 1/2", but if you were to lay that flat so to speak, and measure along the curve it ends up being closer to 7" from the bottom of the handle to the tip of the toy. The shaft starts out smooth for about 4" from the handle, and then finishes with a series of ridges. The 3" or so of ridges appear subtle but can still be felt during use. At its widest around the ridges, the Rondo is about 4 3/4" around.

While it may not scream "sex toy" in the traditional sense, it's not exactly discreet either. It is small enough that it can easily be traveled with, and keeping it in the included pouch can help keep people from figuring out what it is.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Rondo features one vibration speed (that you can control anyway), two motors, and six settings. First you'll need to charge your Rondo for approximately 6 hours with the included charger by removing the silicone plug that covers the charger. It can be a bit of a pain to get out, but it should do a good job of keeping water out while cleaning or during use. Shower use shouldn't be a problem, but be careful if you plan to fully submerge it.

To access the vibrations, you'll need to turn the toy on by pressing the power button located in the back of the row of buttons. Cycling through the vibration patterns can be done by pressing the slightly larger button in front of the on/off button. You'll start with a steady vibration in both the tip of the toy as well as in the handle. The second setting feels like it jumps a stronger "booster" vibration back and forth between the handle and the tip. The third alternates between the handle and the tip, the fourth is a short and quick repeating escalation from a lower to a weaker vibration, the fifth has a short repeating pattern in the tip that sort of reminds me of a dance with two steady pulses then two quicker ones, and the sixth is another dance like pattern with both the handle and the tip pulsing with three quicker pulses then two slightly longer ones. Pressing the button again brings you right back to the first vibration setting. Pressing the on/off button at any time will turn the toy off, and it'll come back on right at setting number one.

The steady vibration actually seems to waver a bit, both audibly and to the touch. All of the patterns can be felt in both the handle and the tip, regardless of whether it's actually supposed to be one or the other. There are a few settings that feel pretty strong, but if you consistently need really strong vibrations to get off, these probably won't do much for you. It was really quiet the first time I turned it on and ran through the settings, but as it's gotten more use it's gotten a little louder. At first just a light blanket would have been fine, but now you'll want to make sure you have a little bit of background noise too just in case.

The shape is designed to hit both the clit and the G-spot at the same time, however the angle isn't really extreme enough to do that. There's some bend in the shaft so that you can try to adjust the toy while it's inside of you, however all that really seemed to do (at least for me) was increase the pressure inside the vagina. If your clit sticks out a bit you might be able to get the dual stimulation, but for most ladies this will just be a G-spot vibrator. It does that pretty well at the very least, providing a lot of broad pressure to the area.

Care and Maintenance

Care and maintenance isn't too tricky with this one. You'll want to try and stick with a water based lube, but you can do a patch test to see if your favorite silicone lubes will do any damage to the material. You can clean the Rondo one of a few ways; either with a spray toy cleaner or wipe, with warm soapy water, or with a 10% bleach solution. It's quite the lint magnet so you'll want to wipe it down with a damp cloth or rinse it off before each use as well. You can store it in the pouch it came with, or in a plastic bag to cut down on the amount of fuzzies it picks up.

You can safely use the Rondo anally, but make sure that you use a condom if you plan to go back and forth in the same session. Or if you're planning on sharing with a partner.

Packaging

The packaging was super classy and nice, and would make a great gift or even a small box to keep personal belongings in. It's about 3 1/2" tall, 7 1/3" wide, and 6 1/2" deep. It features two drawers that easily pull out with finger holes in the front. The top drawer houses Rondo held in place with foam similar to the foam blocks you might have played with as a kid. The bottom drawer holds all the accessories; product/instructional booklet in 10 different languages, 1 cleaning cloth, 1 tube of their lube, 1 silicone cock ring, and 1 velvety toy pouch.

Personal comments

The pouch is about 7 3/4" tall and 5 1/4" wide with the top 1" or so being the area that houses the drawstring. Rondo does fit in the pouch, but just barely.

The wipe is similar to small paper towel. It's about 8"x5" and comes out of the package wet, but not soaking. It does a great job of cleaning lint and fuzzies off of the silicone before use, cleaning water based lube and juices off after use, and even cleaning yourself up after play. It has a lovely scent, almost floral in nature, and lists ingredients on the back as aqua, propylene glycol, phenoxyethanol, lauryl glucoside, glycerin, aloe barbadensis extract, allantoin, parfum, polyglyceryl-2 dipoolyhydroxystearate, latic acid, sodium lactate, sodium polyacrylate, benzoic acid, sodium cocoamphoacetate, dehydroacetic acid, glycyrrhiza glabra.

The lube is a small tube of water based lube. It's liquidy but not so runny that it just pours right out of the tube all over the place. It's on par with an average lube, lasting well enough but will most likely need reapplication with a lot of movement. It has a light scent that I can't quite place, but is pleasant and lists ingredients as aqua, propylene glycol, glycerin, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, tocopheryl acetate, hydroxyethylcellulose, hydroxypropyl guar hydroxypropyltrimoinium chloride, lactic acid.

The cock ring is a simple silicone band 3/4" tall with an unstretched diameter of about 1 1/4" and a stretched diameter of about 2" or so. It will provide a nice steady pressure for most men.

Experience

I like this toy. I don't love it, but I do like it. The ridges with the curve make it catch on my pubic bone or pop uncomfortably if I try to thrust at the wrong angle, but I do really enjoy some faster shallower thrusting with it. The size is juuuuust on the cusp of too big for me to use comfortably and consistently, but I did enjoy the full feeling all the same. It was more than capable of hitting my G-spot, but as nice as the toy is, it's something I'm just not going to reach for all that often.

It's super awesome that it's rechargeable, the size is going to be great for most people, but the vibrations themselves aren't super strong, they waver on steady, and the toy can't comfortably dual stimulate like it claims it can. However, the vibrations are adequate and the Rondo is still more than capable of good G-spot stimulation, so I'll give it 4 stars for that.
