Tango With Me, Baby!

The Tango is Amazing. There, I said it. It's strong, small, and easy to travel with. It's a cinch to use and clean. We-vibe sure made a winner here!

Use

Dun, dun, dun, dun! Dun, na na na na!

Now grab a rose and place it between your teeth, and you, my darlings, are ready to Tango! We-Vibe has outdone themselves with this little beauty, the We-vibe Tango! Small yet mighty, this toy is designed with clitoral bliss in mind. It has multiple vibrations and patterns sure to please and is completely waterproof. The tango can stimulate multiple erogenous zones beyond the clitoris, such as the nipples, labia, vagina, and just about anywhere. The tip of the tango is slanted, so you can have more general stimulation or you can use the tip for more pinpoint stimulation.

The Tango can be used for external P-spot stimulation on the perineum. Because the tango is so small, it should not be used anally. It does not have a flared base and can get easily lost inside the body (one embarrassing trip in the emergency room no on wants).

The Tango is great for almost any woman. It is quiet and strong. It is a good candidate for those who live in a dorm situation. Even if you have roommates, you can easily whisk the Tango away for shower or bath enjoyment. The Tango is completely submersible, which makes it easy to clean and a great toy for the bathtub.

No matter your experience level, the Tango will be good for you. It is non-intimidating for beginners in terms of size and appearance, but it is strong and discreet, two things more advanced players will love. And it's rechargeable to boot (for both those who wish to be more green and you toy snobs who don't use batteries anymore :)

Material / Texture

The Tango is made from plastic. It is non-porous and phthalate free. Phthalates are used to increase the durability and longevity of the plastics, but it is found that they get released into the environment as the plastic ages over time. There are studies showing exposure to phthalates increase incidence of allergies and respiratory issues in children. There is another showing that high exposure causes birth defects in mice. According to the EPA, phthalate is considered a "probable human carcinogen."

Okay, chemistry over, what does it mean? The Tango is body safe and hygienic compared to most other materials. It has a safety rating of 8, way above jellies, rubber and TPR and just shy of silicone. There is no overt odor or taste to the Tango.

The Tango is completely smooth. It has a slanted tip, which seems to be the only difference between the We-vibe Tango and Salsa. Also, I don't know if it is only my Tango or if it's something that comes with the toy, but I have an imperfection on my Tango. It is located on the top of the slant in the middle of the tip. It looks the the mold was broken there or that stress occurred on that part of the toy. It was hard to get a picture of it since the Tango is shiny. It's the whitish/light purple dot. Here it is:

The mark is not on top of the toy, it is like a small indent and it has a scratchy texture to it. It is small, but it ruins the amazing smooth and sleek look of the Tango. Please let me know if yours has this issue too. The texture of the Tango is beginner friendly.

Design / Shape / Size

The design of the Tango is sleek, simple, yet modern. It is beginner-friendly in all dimensions. The Tango is tiny! Here's a picture of it compared to MiMi.

The Tango is a tad longer than MiMi (MiMi is 3.25 inches, Tango is 3.5). The Tango is slim with a circumference of about 2 inches. While the Tango is designed more for external use, it has an insertable length of about 3 inches. If anything, the Tango is great for teasing the entrance of the vagina. It is too short for thrusting, but again, it's more of an external vibe. The strength and versatility of the Tango, along with its quality makes it a good choice for those who like good vibrations and rechargeable toys.

And discreet! The Tango is so small it could fit in a pocket. It is easy to hide, especially in the white drawstring purse it comes in. Once in the pouch, it can go just about everywhere.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Tango is an Easy 4 Vrooms. It's that awesome. There is one button on the base of the toy. It is between the two magnetic nodes where the toy charges. Hold the button for a couple of seconds and it turns on its weakest vibe setting. Here are the different settings the Tango has. The first and second are shockingly similar, if they are different, please let me know.

1. Low Vibration: 3 Vrooms, 1 Bee
2. Still Low Vibration: 3 Vrooms, 1 Bee
3. Medium Vibration: 4 Vrooms, 2 Bees
4. High Vibration: 4-5 Vrooms, 2 Bees
5. Medium Pulsing followed
by faster pulsing, repeat: 3-4 Vrooms, 2 Bees
6. Decelerating to
Accelerating: 2-4 Vrooms, 2 Bees
7. Fast Pulse: 3-4 Vrooms, 2 Bees
8. Two long pulses, three
short, repeat: 3-4 Vrooms, 2 Bees.

What's nice is that if you turn the toy off for a couple of seconds and then turn it back on, the Tango will resume at whatever vibration setting you left it at. There are also small, orange lights at the base of the toy that wrap around the Tango. The lights flash or change depending on what setting is on. For being plastic and strong, the Tango isn't very loud, at about 2 Bees. It is amazingly waterproof and can be fully submerged in the bathtub.

The Tango has a magnetic charger. The charger has two parts. The first is the AC plug that connects to the wall. That connects into a base with magnetic nodes. The magnetic part is shaped like a pseudo-sphere. The Tango takes about 2 hours to fully charged and the charges lasts longer than most other rechargeable toys I own.

Care and Maintenance

Care for the Tango is immensely easy to clean. Leave it in the sink to soak, use a wet wipe, or alcohol wipe. The plastic cleans easy and there are no nooks or crannies where debris can easily collect. The Tango is easy to store when dry. It can be placed in the drawstring pouch it comes with or the original packaging if you desire. Just be sure that the Tango is completely dry when you decide to charge it.

Both water and silicone based lubricants are compatible with plastic, but be aware that the bottom and button of the Tango is made of silicone. Please be careful if you decide to use silicone lube (thanks Gracie for the info!)

Packaging

The packaging for the Tango reminds me of a phone or iPod. The packaging is large given the size of the toy, but well presented. The outer packaging is cardboard. When you open the cardboard lid, you'll see this:

The Tango is wrapped in plastic, to the right is the AC plug and the white pouch for storgage. If you really want, you can keep the packaging, but it is not that nice, (not MiMi nice). The charger pieces and Tango fit in the pouch easily and can be used for long term storage.

Personal comments

Fun Fact: The Tango's motor vibrates in a way that if you hold it with a loose grip it will actually spin as it travels down your hand. Just an entertaining thing.

It's either the shape or material of the Tango, but I don't think the vibrations numb your hand as much as other hand held discreet vibes, like MiMi. This could be because the Tango is a thinner toy so there is less area for the vibrations to spread or travel. For more sensitive users, the Tango may numb your hand or fingers, but only after extensive use. I have not experienced numbness or an itchy feeling after use.

Experience

I secretly hope that only my Tango has the little imperfection on the center of the tip of the toy. It would be sad if this was an industrial choice to cut the mold of the toy there. If it is only an issue with my toy, I will most likely return it for another one. This may seem OCD, but the imperfection changes where light hits the toy. The Tango is naturally a shiny, pleasing plastic. The imperfection makes me a sad panda. Either way, it doesn't ruin the toy for me. The Tango is one of my favorite toys, more than Mimi. I will probably get the Salsa as well. The only difference is the tip, and i'll be able to do a comparison between the two.
Follow-up commentary
I've had this little guy for a while now, and he reigns as my number one toy! I bought the Salsa and Touch to use when I have to charge the Tango. I love the motor on these We-Vibes.

I've had some potential issues with the motor recently. Sometimes, it doesn't turn on when I press the button. It could be because I'm not pressing the button well or it isn't charged enough. Still, I'm going to keep an eye on him and potentially get a replacement with the 1 Year warranty We-Vibe provides.

Still, I love the Tango, I'd buy another one just to have a back up and have no idea how I managed before it. I would recommend this to any lady.

Thanks for writing this review. Your other review on this vibe's "sister" Salsa was also especially helpful.
