K-Y yours and mine - lubricant discontinued by K-Y Brand - review by cbmb716

We received this in a honeymoon gift basket as a wedding gift. We were disappointed in the product's performance after the hype the commercials stirred up. It is supposed to add a warming sensation for him and a tingling sensation for her, but neither one of us felt any difference in the KY Yours and Mine lubricants as opposed to normal water based lubricants we have used in the past that are not supposed to have any special effects at all.


I would definitely say the KY Yours and Mine lubricants are nowhere near worth the money you are spending. It is a product full of empty promises. The product box claims the lubricants are smooth and silky but based on our experience they are anything but! They dried out fast so we had to re-apply several times during the duration of our intercourse because everything got really dry and uncomfortable. When the lubricants actually were wet, they were very sticky and undesirable. I will say the fact that they are compatible with latex condoms which is a plus, although it took away from the already diluted sensations the product promises to deliver but does not.


This product contains menthol too, so if you have sensitive skin like I do, I really do not recommend that you use the KY Yours and Mine lubricants because they did cause a little bit of skin irritation for me and my hubby. The first time we used it, the warming sensation was more of a burning sensation for my hubby to the point where he had to run to the shower and wash it off in pure discomfort. It ruined the mood after that and he was in so much pain and discomfort he did not wish to proceed. I followed him to the shower shortly after because I began to burn as well which does not really make sense considering the women's lubricant is supposed to have a cooling, tingling affect. After looking closer at the ingredients, we discovered one of the ingredients is benzoic acid. I'm sorry but there is something about putting acid in my vagina I'm not exactly down with! Another questionable ingredient that raises eye brows is propylene glycol. When we looked this ingredient up online, we discovered it is a cosmetic form of mineral oil found in automatic brake fluid, hydraulic fluid, and industrial anti-freeze! Are you kidding me? There was a warning on the same page saying this ingredient can cause kidney damage, liver abnormalities, and strongly stresses that you should not let this product come in contact with your skin! No wonder it burned like crazy on contact and caused skin irritation!


Overall it is a waste of money unless intense pain thrills you and turns you on. But for us personally, we will never use these lubricants ever again. In fact, I'm pretty sure we just threw the bottles in the trash. It definitely does not have the intense explosion the tv commercials portray it to provide.
