A few weeks ago, we decided to take a look at rope bondage. It was out of the blue, really. We, as a couple, don't really do a whole lot of bondage related activities, but something about rope attracted us. We picked up a few varieties of ropes, along with this book. We figured that if we're going to do this, we should do it right and safely, and to do that we would need some good instructions. That's where this book comes in.

As beginners, we really needed a book to help us through the shaky phases of starting out and laying out information clearly and in an organized manner. This book does that. Covered in this book are:

-Forward followed by the introduction.
-Section about rope bondage safety; dos and don'ts. This was immensely helpful for us and gave several tips that we wouldn't have thought of.
-Rope information. This section shows you how to pick the right material and size, along with how to finish cut ends and how to clean soiled rope.
-The knots. This section displays the knots being used in this book, along with both written and photographic instructions on how to do them. Covered are the square knot, bow tie knot, double slipknot, fisherman's knot, double coin knot, trinity knot, butterfly loop, cross knot, good luck knot, box knot, snake weave, cording rope ends, and chain braiding. Trying to learn knots without the help of someone in front of you giving you examples is difficult, but Two Knotty Boys does an excellent job of walking you through them, even if you may have to try the more intricate ones more than once.
-Basic bondage. These are simple(ish) bondage techniques. Covered in this section are the cat's paw, cat's paw for ankles, basic wrap, rope shackle, ankle wrap, three-loop quick harness, and dragonfly sleeve. Most of these techniques are followed by instructions on how to undo them when playtime is over.
-Decorative bondage. Covered here are the rope corset, rope gauntlet, trinity knot bra, rope panty, good luck harness, and the tortoise shell bodysuit.
-Dominance bondage. Here is where they are getting into more aggressive techniques. Here you will find the over and back harness, Japanese pearl harness, basketing hog-tie, double coin knot bra with wrist tie back, quick bit gag, bridle, and rope cage.
-Sex bondage. Listed here are the table tie-down, chair bondage: kneeling, seated chair tie, and rope strap-on.
-Suggested reading, glossary, and about the authors.

Basically, this book has a little bit of everything, whether you are looking for rope work for pure aesthetics, for light bondage, for heavy bondage, or just how to tie your lover to a chair. The only downside of the book is that most models displaying the rope work are female. A male model is only used twice (the bridle and the good luck knot harness). This isn't a problem for us, but it may be a problem for some.

The clear instructions, photos, and guidelines laid out have helped us as beginners to ease our way into erotic bondage slowly, effectively, and yes, safely. I highly recommend this book to anyone starting out or just looking for more techniques.
