Fifty Shades Darker: Book Two - erotic book by Entrenue - review by mama2007

Intro
50 Shades Darker, the second book in the series written by E.L. James, has 22 chapters and is a total of 532 pages long in this book. This book is a paperback one and is pretty thick in its look. I previously stated in my 50 Shades of Grey review that I'm not very keen on reading books, but this series has caught my eye and will have me interested until the end!

Personally, I love these books so far and would recommend them for a nice erotic read for a fantasy you may want to look into. Some people may enjoy the book as I do and others may not like it at all, because of the un-realistic expectations that are portrayed in the books. But for couples who practice the lifestyle in their sex life, apparently this book is far from realistic in their eyes. I don't want to portray the wrong views of this book, but I hope to start some things in my marriage that both Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele were acting out in their relationship they have formed in book two.

There's more kinky scenes to this book than there was in the first one, which is always a plus with this series written by E.L. James. I am very glad to have found the 50 Shades of Grey series. They make for a great travel read if you're in the car and need something good to intrigue your mind!

Plot
Anastasia is able to bring light to parts of Christian Grey that his therapist hasn't even been able to do for him. She starts working at the publishing company she got a new job at like she left off saying in book one, but as you probably know the distance doesn't keep them apart from each other. Christian makes a proposal that Ana is able to compromise to work with him on. It includes them working together on things, as well as compromise, and support/understanding on her part for Christian, as he starts to really trust her a lot more and actually begins to open up more to her now. Unlike with his therapist, he's able to open up and talk about his past and events that had happened, to Ana for her to see where he is coming from in life.

Christian eventually proposes to marry Anastasia, but as we know she's a bit reluctant to immediately say yes. She of course wants to know more about the man wanting to marry her. They have some hot sex scenes with a bit of kinkiness in them, but some of it is a bit repetitive which is kind of a turn-off to read, but hopefully as I start the third book it gets better and better with an awesome ending. Anastasia also learns about the sexual and kinky things she likes most and least with Christian. Of course, he's still obsessed with her which I still find a bit strange in this type of relationship that they have. This is because their sex life isn't a huge amount, but when they do have sex it's hot and new to an extent sometimes. Ana does end up finding more secrets of Christian's past and it makes her question what she really wants.

In this book, Christian acts as if he's stalking Anastasia in places and he also backs off as if sometimes he's not in the mood when she is, to tease or punish her. One of my favorite phrases in this book from Christian to Anastasia is, "Don't bite your lip Anastasia. You know how I feel when you do that".

Conclusion
This book has 22 chapters in it, and is worth the entire read in my personal opinion. I am not part of a BDSM lifestyle right now with my husband, but I know a large amount of people on EdenFantasys are, and they're offended by the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy books. It's an erotica book series with some kink and sex in it with a dominate and submissive relationship. Yet it may not be realistic like people actually practice, but it's also a story in a book to get the readers' attention.
