Dona linen spray - mist by System JO - review by humblepie

A Sweet Necessity!

DONA Linen Spray is everything I'd hoped it would be - a fresh, fruity scent that breathes life into your dresser, closet, or the back seat of your car without being overwhelming or boring. While it will be too sweet for those looking for something with a kick, I'd absolutely recommend it for anyone seeking a girly, exciting scent to bring to their home.
Moderate strength, very fresh scent, nice smell
Only lasts a moderate amount of time, a bit drying if used on skin, too sweet for some

DONA linen spray in mangosteen by System JO is a liquid designed to be sprayed onto linens or other cloth to give it a fresh and pleasing fruity scent. It can be used on most fabric types, and as much or as little as you'd like.

This product will work well for people who like moderately strong, sweet scents (it could possibly be too girly for some). I particularly enjoy spraying it on clothing that I am storing away for the season, and have found it works well on (non-leather!) car interiors as well.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The spray is very thin and runny (and thus will go everywhere if you remove the spray-top for reviewing I wouldn't recommend it!), and has a texture similar to rubbing alcohol. It is very easy to dispense, and unless you hold the bottle very very close to its target material, it does not dispense enough at once to create droplets or run down the material.

On the skin, it can be a bit drying after evaporating, but does not feel sticky or greasy in the least.

Taste / Aroma

The smell of this linen spray is very sweet and fruity, the most feminine of any DONA product I have tried so far. It reminds me of mango, but much much sweeter, and while I had expected it to be a little citrusy it has none of the bite a citrus possesses.

It is only moderately strong. Even if you spray every item in a drawer, it still won't be overwhelming. I found that when sprayed on a tshirt which was then worn, the scent was noticeable for about two hours, and when sprayed onto the contents of a drawer which was then closed (and opened periodically for check-ups) it lasted for about a day.

This product is NOT meant to be ingested, but after accidentally walking through a cloud of it with my mouth open I can tell you that it tastes absolutely awful!
    • Smells good

Dona Linen Spray performed quite well, and while the smell was very sweet it managed to not be overwhelming nor boring. Because it isn't very strong, I didn't have to wash it off of any clothing, but after spraying my hand and allowing it to dry, I washed it off with soap and water and there was no lingering residue or scent on my skin.

I really liked that mangosteen is a pretty unusual smell for linens; usually you only see lavender or "laundry" scents for this type of product, and I love the freshness that this scent brings to the table. You also get a great amount of product for the price - I spray this stuff freakin' everywhere and I'm not going to run out anytime soon! I do wish it had a bit more bite to it, maybe a hint of citrus, but that might take away some of its delicacy.

The packaging for this spray is as lovely as all the DONA products I have ordered. It features a pretty colored floral pattern, as well as lacy designs around the back, and romantic language about the nature of the product.

I have had no issues with leakage from the cap, and it comes with a cover so that the spray will not be accidentally dispensed during storage or travel. This packaging is very discreet, as it should be! This is not a very sexual product, and while there is mention of "aphrodisiacs" on the back of the label it can easily be waved away as exaggerative language.
