Use

This delectable body paint by Shunga Erotic Art is a great tool to introduce into the bedroom. Shunga offers a great variety of sensual products, made with quality ingredients.

This tasty treat is elegant and can add a special twist to your foreplay. The idea is to paint your partner's body with the included applicator and proceed to lick it off. You could also draw it on yourself and guide your partner where you want their tongue to be. What better sensual product to include in your playtime than a known aphrodisiac; chocolate.

Great for beginners, experienced toy users and, of course, anyone with a sweet tooth, this is a perfect product to introduce in the bedroom. The glass bottle is elegant and won't be intimidating for anyone to use.

It is important not to get any of this on women's vaginal area. With sugar as the number one ingredient, this is a yeast infection just waiting to happen. It can be used anywhere on men so try painting up a penis and enjoy!

The body paint is not just restricted to bedroom use. Top off a bowl of ice cream with this delicious chocolate sauce, or any other dessert you can think of adding it to. It's just that yummy!

Shunga also suggests using the paint in your skin care regime as a face mask. It is true that cocoa is loaded with antioxidants and is an anti-inflammatory. It can help soften and smooth the skin, healing while preventing further damage. That said, I can't attest to whether the concentrations of cocoa present in this body paint are high enough to provide any real skin benefits.

Here is a list of ingredients as they are listed on the bottle:
Sugar (sucrose), Water, Cocoa powder, Caramel color, N&A Flavor, Potassium sorbate (preservative), Citric acid, FD&C Yellow #6, FD&C Red #40, FD&C Blue #1.

Make sure to check the ingredients for any possible allergies before using this product. It is always best to spot test on the skin as well before the first use to ensure a reaction will not occur.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The paint is a soft, silky syrup. There are no grains or chunks to speak of. It glides over the skin smoothly. It is very comparable to other dessert toppings. As compared to Nesquik, Shunga's color and texture is similar, but it is more viscous than the grocery store mimic. It takes a bit more time to travel down the skin when held at a vertical angle and has less tendency to drip or make a mess than the Nesquik does.

**Other chocolate syrups may prove to have even thicker or more similar viscosities to the Shunga than the Nesquik has, but this is just a simple comparison.

The body paint does tend to cling to the skin and can often takes a few licks to get it all off a particular area. If not completely licked off it can leave behind a sticky residue. However, once entirely licked off, the skin feels just fine.

The chocolate version has a rich, dark brown color. Depending on how much is applied to the skin, whether it is poured directly from the bottle or brushed on with the foam applicator or other type of paint brush, it can look lighter or darker in color.

Taste / Aroma

The Aphrodisiac Chocolate flavor is rich and chocolately. I actually prefer the taste of this over my Nesquik syrup. Where the Nesquik is sugary, the Shunga has a deeper chocolate taste. Not to be confused, the Shunga is still very sweet, but the taste seems a bit more luxurious to me. There is no bad aftertaste either. There's just nothing bad to say about it.

Same goes for the scent. It smells divine. The paint smells exactly as it tastes.

Performance

With 3.5 ounces in the bottle, this should last a good while. I could not find an expiry date on the bottle, nor on the Shunga website. This paint should not go bad before it gets used up though. For more discretion, it does not have to be refrigerated either.

As said above, the paint can feel sticky if some remains on the skin. It is easily washed off with warm water and soap. The foam brush can also be washed with soap and water.

We have not gotten this on any fabrics but it would be best to stain treat any spots that do spill onto sheets or other linens, just for safe measure. It would be much easier to make a mess if large areas are being painted with copious amounts of paint and not licked off in a timely manor. We tended to paint smaller areas, lick them off and continue painting and reapplying.

The foam applicator could be better. Though it works perfectly well, a different brush could work even better. There was a chunk of glue sticking out of the foam where it was glued onto the wooden stick. It is then secured with a small piece of string. In order to reach the bottom of the bottle, the stick must be held at its end with the tips of the fingers.

My partner actually enjoys the foam brush. He is glad that a brush is included and I must agree that the fine tip of the foam does allow for more precision in drawing with the paint. However, it can make application uneven and since it does not collect much product, it needs to be dipped in the bottle often.

Aside from the junky foam brush, the product itself is easy to work with, doesn't dry up and tastes delicious. It is a great treat and a fun way to extend foreplay while giving your partner some extra oral attention.

Packaging

The packaging is the definition of luxury. It is a very solid, thick clear glass bottle. The color of the body paint can be seen through it. With a clear rectangular base, the liquid is housed in a flattened circular shape. The twist-off cap is made of black plastic with raised circular step-like designs on the top.

The sticker on the front clearing describes what the product is for, and has a traditional Shunga art design of a couple embracing on the front. Perhaps not the most discreet, this would still make a lovely gift.

The information on the back of the bottle is actually printed on the bottle. It describes the use of the paint in english and french and then lists the ingredients and some company information.

The foam applicator brush is held in a plastic card attached to the neck of the bottle. This card is not completely attached around the neck and can very easily be pulled off the bottle.

The cap does twist on tightly and could be suitable for travel. The glass is thick and seems to be quite durable. When left laying on its side for extended periods, my bottle has yet to leak. This could very well work for travel. The brush won't get lost if the plastic card is kept to hold it with the bottle.
    • Does not leak
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Would make a nice gift

Experience

I was expecting to get a fancy bottle of repackaged Nesquik. I have found there are slight differences and I can definitely see the higher quality in the Shunga paint over my cheapy bottle of Nesquik syrup.

We have had this bottle for quite some time and though I have noticed it get crusty around the rim of the bottle, this has not affected the consistency or texture of the product in the bottle. There has been no crystallization or any other changes to the paint since we've had it in our stash.

As for my partner's thoughts, he says that it's fun and tasty. He appreciates the authenticity in the chocolate flavor and said his experience was an enjoyable one.

We are looking forward to sampling the other flavors and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an indulgent treat for a special night with their partner or even to give as a gift. Shunga has yet to disappoint me and this is really an outstanding sensual body paint.

Great review! I got the vanilla/chocolate one and didn't care for it. My fiance thought it was decent. I guess I'm just too picky because I haven't liked any of the Shunga flavored products other than the massage oil.
