The Knead Me massage set from Jimmy Jane is a luxury massage item - appropriate as a gift, yes, but awesome enough to be a personal purchase for those looking to invest in a Jimmy Jane massage stone. This kit includes the extremely popular Contour M and "Dark Vanilla" scented Afterglow massage candle, giving you everything you need for a brilliant massage session - you just need to bring the partner.

The Afterglow massage candle melts to make a thin oil - note, oil is incompatible with latex, so if this candle is used make sure to wash your hands and such before donning a condom for the sex part of the massage. Which of course, brings me to another point: I cannot help but think that massages born of the combination of Afterglow and Contour M are going to lead to sex, or at least some hanky panky. So, make sure you know what's on the menu and what's not (if there's any doubt between you and your partner) before the vanilla scented massage gets a mind of its own.

The candle melts at a relatively low temperature into a pool of oil suitable for a whole back massage within five minutes. This is nice, because it is always frustrating to want to use the candle when it has not yet been lit. The oil it melts to is thin and spreads easily, covering the whole back easily with a few splashes. I prefer to spread the oil around the areas being massaged with my hands, and then use the Contour M to really do the workover.

The Dark Vanilla smell is very vanilla - the kind of vanilla that makes me think of white cake with white icing sold at the grocery store decorated obscene icing flowers. It's not cloying, however, for although the vanilla is prominent it is almost savory and rich, highlighted with undertones that smell almost Thai to me - lemongrass, coconut milk, kaffir lime...

As nice as the smell is, it is very PRESENT - I would say almost too strong for my tastes. Almost.

The Afterglow massage candle is made of crazy long lasting 'oil' (rather, a solid that liquefies around body temperature). One thin application sufficed for a good hour of rubbing, and there was plenty of slipperiness left to spare - definitely plan on taking a shower, or wearing an old cotton t-shirt (or the like) after the Afterglow massage wraps up. The oil is exceedingly moisturizing, so leaving it on the skin overnight leads to soft skin that smells nice, but it is oil so can be problematic to skin prone to breaking out.

If the massage becomes the appetizer to a main course of butt sex, the Afterglow oil works well to help lubricate the ass if desired, but remember - its not latex compatible!

The Knead Me set came in a gift box about the size of a shoe box that houses the two items. The box is nice, but a bit flimsy, so only marginally useful in real life while being exceedingly tasteful.
