Knead Me massage set - sensual kit discontinued by Jimmyjane - review by MamaDivine

The Knead Me Massage Set has been on my wishlist for a few months now. This last order, I had to have it! I have been looking for several different massage aides to help me with my fibromyalgia and polyarthropathy (all over joint pain). This set was not only something that I wanted to try because of the massage aspect, but the quality and look of it was fabulous! Even after using this for my massage needs, when the candle is done, I will still have a great set that I can find other uses for.

The Knead Me Massage Set comes with two JimmyJane Products. (1) Knead Me Palm Massager and (1) Knead Me Massage Candle (Dark Vanilla Scent). When this package arrived, it came in two very nice, elegant boxes. Nothing "sexual or sensual" about it on the packages. I would highly recommend this set as a gift for bachelorette or bridal showers. Even a baby shower, this would be a great gift (don't forget to pamper the momma!). There was a hot pink, thick ribbon that came around the box as well (it even comes gift wrapped for you!).

Inside the box, you will find two smaller boxes. 1 box will contain the massage candle and one will contain the palm massager. This is great if you want to keep one, and gift the other to a friend or family member. Two gifts in one! Or, simply keep both for yourself!

When I took the Palm massager from the box, right away I noticed the weight of it. It was much heavier than I had original expected. Not too heavy that I cannot handle it, but it has some good weight to it. I have roughly "medium" sized hands. This massager fit right in the palm of my hand with my fingers extending to the "feet" of it. So, this isn't a small massager by any means. (Which is what I had originally thought).

The massage candle is a 2-1/2" cube made of the same material as the palm massager. The holder has a white, glossy finish and also has quite a bit of weight to it. The scent is "Dark Vanilla", which I found to be a rather rich scent. I'm not usually a fan of vanilla, but this candle does smell fairly pleasant! The candle itself is about 4.5 fluid ounces. This makes for a pretty decent sized candle! The first thing that I noticed about the candle was the feel of it. I have never ordered massage candles before, so this was new for me. I swiped my finger across the top of the candle. It was a silky, oily feel. I was able to rub my fingers together to get an idea of what the candle felt like. Its not greasy, like I thought it might be. It didn't seem tacky either.

I suffer from joint pains in my hands, so I figured that would be a nice start to try this candle with. I lit the candle and waited for about 15 minutes for a pool of oil/wax to melt. Once it had pooled, I blew out the candle carefully and used the small pour spout on the one corner to drizzle the oil onto my other hand. I only used a dab! Really, that's all you need! I found that the oil was fairly thick, not runny. Which I liked a lot. I am pretty certain that this candle will last quite a while. So, I took my fingers and gently massaged the oils into my joints and muscles in my hands and wrists. The oil was not tacky or greasy, it set in nicely with my skin and absorbed pretty well. I then wiped one hand with the other and began to massage it into both. The warmth of the oil was wonderful on my tired hands (I type A LOT). This oil can be washed off easily with soap and water. I have yet to use this on my back or other pain-stricken areas, but very soon!

As for the palm massager, its not the best for hand, joints or smaller areas that lack "padding". I was able to run this over the hubby's back (while he was wearing a hoodie sweater) and he said that it was really nice. (I believe the look on his face said it all though!). Because the "feet" on the massagers are rounded and heavily weighted, it is able to give a really deep tissue pressure to those achy muscles that need an extra "push" to relieve some pressure.

As much as I love this set, I would have to say that the massager could stand to be more "spread out" on the feet. It doesn't cover much at the base, so it tends to dig in too hard for me. If the pressure was more evenly spread out, I don't think that I would have as much problems with it as I do now. However, we did find that if you flip the massager over onto the rounded side, it does pretty well that way too. I still love the set though.
