It Really Is Magic!
If you're not worried about noise or a place to plug it in the Hitachi is totally worth your money. It's got multiple uses, it feels quite sturdy, and...well, it's been very effective for me at least!

Pros
powerful, intense, not battery-operated, sturdy
Cons
noisy, has to be plugged in, large
The Hitachi was my first vibrator ("Go big or go home", right?) and it's still by far my favorite. The vibrations were almost shockingly intense at first (keep in mind I had nothing to compare it to!). But once I put this baby to good use I fell in love.
The Hitachi's fun alone but with a partner is where it really shines for me. My boyfriend and I both love to use it to tease each other and he loves the way my body reacts to it (and I do too, of course). The fact that it's a killer total-body massager doesn't hurt either. I'm a little impatient when it comes to massages which is unfortunate because my boyfriend LOVES them. The Hitachi is definitely efficient when it comes to loosening up the muscles in your back, arms, legs - everywhere! Not having to worry about running out of batteries is also a plus. Since it plugs in the Hitachi keeps going strong for as long as you want it to.
There are a couple of cons to the Hitachi; it's loud, for one. Like almost vacuum loud. Having to plug it in (though it can be a plus) can also be a pain. It's obviously not bathtub ready and you do need to be near an outlet to use it (when I went to Europe for a few weeks this Summer I missed it quite a bit!). Plus it can get warm after you've been using it for a while.
All cons aside though, it's easy for me to see why the Hitachi has been labeled the "Holy grail of vibrators". It's a powerful piece of equipment and it does its job well. As much as I enjoy experimenting with new toys I always come back to the Hitachi.
