Body moisturizer discontinued
by Cake Beauty

Mm Mm Mmmm

If you are a sucker for Milk Made Smoothing White Sugar Scrub, and you're looking for something that helps you keep that scent all day long, this is your guy. Cake has, once again, come up with an amazing scent, accompanied by great moisture, and a quality product. However, if you have sensitivities to strong scents, or just don't like overly-sweet fragrances, this probably isn't for you.

Use

This is a splendid follow-up to Cake's Milk Made Smoothing White Sugar Scrub. If you're not a fan of sugary-sweet, however, this may be just a bit too much for you. I, personally, want to literally swim in a kiddie-pool of the sugar scrub, and use it every single time that I take a shower (sadly, for my wallet), but the lotion is a bit too much for me on a daily basis. I tend to keep it for when I want to smell exceptionally scrumptious for my husband, and just entice him for awhile.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

If you've ever used a body butter before, you know how this feels. If you haven't, the easiest way to explain it is literally room-temperature butter. This stuff is thick, without being overly oily. However, if you do have naturally oily skin, this may just exacerbate the issue, because it is certainly not without a bit of oil to it; however, it isn't greasy. You don't need much for this to go a long way, but should you put too much it may take quite a bit to rub into the skin, since it's very thick and viscous. If I were to hold the tube upside down, it wouldn't go anywhere, and if I were to dip my fingers into the container, when I pulled it out there would be a peak left behind, as it's very thick. Once rubbed into the skin, however, it leaves it feeling silky smooth. While my skin is initially a bit oily after application, it isn't tacky, greasy, or gross.

Taste / Aroma

If you are fortunate enough to own Cake's Milk Made Smoothing White Sugar Scrub, then you know exactly how this smells (and if you aren't, go buy it, you're missing out). If you don't, then imagine a white Smartie candy having an illegitimate love child with a raspberry tart. That is exactly what this smells like. There is a light undertone of raspberry, with a stronger forefront of vanilla. The milk made product line tends to remind me a lot of cake batter, as I'm sure it's meant to (Cake and all that). I haven't tasted the product directly, but after it's been applied to the skin there is no taste, although there is a bit of an after-residue on my tongue.

I will emphasize again that if you aren't a fan of strong smelling, exceptionally sweet fragrances, then this is absolutely not for you. The scent lingers for more than a few hours, and it is very very sweet.

Performance

I do not use this for my every day "go-to" lotion, because the scent is quite a bit overpowering for me sometimes. However, when the occasion is right, and I want to be absolutely drenched in sweet-smelling, inciting fragrances, this is what I reach for. It's certainly not light or subtle, especially if you were to apply this to your entire body. That being said, it is an excellent moisturizer, so if you do absolutely love the fragrance (and don't get me wrong, I do; I just don't like it every day, since I prefer lighter scents) and enjoy sweet and flirty scents, this may be just for you.

The moisturizing aspect of this product lasts for a very long time, and I find that I don't have to re-apply anything for the whole day (aside from my hands, because I'm constantly moisturizing those). I generally stick to my legs when using this product, since it keeps it a bit further from my nose so it doesn't overwhelm me too much, and every time I do, I find they feel silky-smooth for the entire day, without being greasy. If you were go to into the water or take a shower, the scent wouldn't stick with you, so wash-off and clean up isn't problematic.

Allergy alert:This product does contain glycerin, so if you have skin sensitives, be aware of this.

Packaging

This puppy came in a simple white plastic tub, with the trade-mark pink and white writing with the cake logo. The tub is nice and sturdy, so I wouldn't have any worries that this would leak with usual use, however if I were to travel I would put it in a Ziploc bag to ensure it didn't get jostled around and perhaps screw loose. The packaging is not sexual at all, as this is a lotion and not marketed towards sexual use, so it's friendly to leave out on a counter-top or night-stand without fear of getting off glances.
