Safe for Sensitive Skin

I really like that this product is actually unscented. It is very nice on sensitive skin, and I had no trouble with it in that sense. However, I do have a hard time justifying the price, even though it performs well - I don't know if I can say that it performs THAT well.

Use

This lotion is intended for use on the body, to moisturize skin. It is for external use only, and is meant to be a body moisturizer. It is great for after shaving to make shaved legs feel extra silky, or for general dry, itchy skin. It is safe for those of us with sensitivities to lotions and body products.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

It doesn't make skin look wet or greasy when applied. It isn't runny or drippy, which I like. It feels thick when it's first in your hand, but creamy. It stays in place where you apply it, until you rub it in. When applying it, it can feel slick, but it absorbs nicely and quickly, without feeling heavy or greasy. While I like the way this feels, I have trouble justifying the price, but it does make skin feel smooth when applied. Someone I know actually tried this and when they put it in their hand they said that it felt "soft". I don't really know if I can say that this lotion is hydrating, per se, but it does make skin feel soft and it feels soft when applied to your skin.

Taste / Aroma

I got this lotion in the Un-sweet (unscented) version. It was the only one available, as it seems Eden has discontinued the scented versions, but also, because I am very sensitive to scents and have sensitive skin as well. The unscented option seemed like my best bet, since I didn't want end up with some overpowering sugary scented lotion. I have very sensitive skin that is frequently dry and itchy, plus ezcema, plus allergies - so whenever I get a body product like this, I really hope it doesn't bother me in any way. I've gotten plenty of lotions in the past that have made me itch, or get a rash. Thankfully, this lotion lives up to being unscented - as I know that I've gotten 'unscented' products in the past, only for them to have some sort of scent to them. There are no surprising scents when you get this lotion - it doesn't have any subtle perfume scent added to it.

Performance

I applied this lotion to one of my arms, and not the other, and the arm I applied it to did feel smoother to the touch about an hour later. This lotion is nice and does not need to be reapplied. I was worried that I'd put this on my skin and break out in hives or something, since that seems to be a risk I run when using body products like this, so that is one reason that I had applied it to only one of my arms initially. According to the info on the back of the bottle, this is specially formulated for extra sensitive skin. I do like that this lotion seems to live up to that claim, since I often put on lotions only to be irritated by the scent, or maybe the dyes, or the ingredients, only to break out in a rash or feel itchy or dry. After applying this, I never felt dry or itchy for hours after, and it didn't CAUSE me to feel itchy, allergic, or rashy, like body product so often do.

Packaging

This bottle is very easy to use. It is a push top cap, and a plain plastic bottle. It is very minimal, there was no seal on the outside or under the cap. It doesn't leak or make any sort of mess, and you can squeeze out exactly the amount you want because it is so thick; you don't end up with a whole bottle drippy out when you squeeze it, like with some products. The plastic bottle is about the same as some shampoo bottles. I could see this being a bit difficult to squeeze, maybe, for those with wrist and joint issues; as it is made of a stiffer plastic, not a soft, squishier material.

Personal comments

The bottle is definitely a good size, at 8.5 oz. It fits nicely into my hand. I know that this amount of lotion will definitely last me quite a while. Although, I DO think this is pretty pricey, at over $20 a bottle. The fact that this is non-irritating is a huge bonus for me, and that is the biggest thing about it that I love. It is truly unscented, and great for those of us who are super sensitive. The fact that it doesn't make me break out in rashes, like so many other products, makes me consider if the price really IS worth it! Also, this product is made in Canada.
Follow-up commentary
The other day I tried to put this on after shaving my legs, and my skin already felt kind of dry and itchy. I put this on thinking it would make my legs feel smooth and not so unpleasant, when it did quite the opposite. Immediately after putting this lotion on both of my legs, I felt like my skin was stinging. I ended up with rashy spots all over both of my legs, and they burned to touch all night after that. Not so nice! Apparently, it's not all that great for sensitive skin after all!
