This device has 2 speeds, 5000 and 6000 rpm. You can toggle between them with a switch on the handle. It is in a good position and is easily reached by either the lady using it on herself, or her lover using it on her.

The only downside to the switch is that the off position is in between the low and high setting, so when you are ready to hit the higher gear (if you do not do it quick enough), there can be a short pause between switching speeds.
