When I received my Hitachi I had zero experience with it. I was a little intimidated by the size, and was skeptical of it having only two speed settings. I quickly learned that it's large so that it's easier to grip, and it only has two speed settings because it doesn't need several settings. High and low is plenty. I still use it just on low most of the time.
