The Hitachi is mainly for clitoral stimulation - due to its size and shape it's not ideal for insertion. The Hitachi Magic Wand is also great to use for stimulation of the labia and nipples. As a bonus, the Hitachi makes a great massager for the back and shoulders. I like to move the Hitachi when i use it, but it's also great when used stationary over your clit. It's pretty powerful, so I would suggest getting a speed controller if you'd like to vary the speed some.

The magic wand is perfect for solo use and use with a partner. It's a little on the larger side so it's hard to use with a dildo at the same time, but if you're being entered from below I've found it to be quite pleasurable. The magic wand is also on the loud side, so if you have privacy concerns you should keep that in mind.

The Hitachi is made of rubber and plastic as far as I can tell. It gives off a very slight scent that I could only know from holding it under my nose. The handle was smooth and easy to hold and the head was firm and soft. I was slightly concerned about the head being porous, but I slipped a condom over it (with a little difficulty). The texture of the head was somewhat rubbery but soft.

The Hitachi Magic wand has the handle, the head, and the connection between the two, and the cord that plugs into an outlet. The handle is long and sleek and the head is round, covering a reasonably large surface area. I really like how effortless it is to hold in position, but I feel like the cord was a little too short.

The design of the Hitachi's controls is really simple. It has a switch located on the handle with three options: low, off, and high. Both options were very strong from my experience. So strong that I bought a speed controller for it so I didn't explode from all the stimulation. I'd say the low was 5 vrooms and the high was (an off the scale) 6. I wouldn't recommend this for the more sensitive folks as it's so powerful.

Because this is plugged in, it's not waterproof.

Because this toy's head is porous it's hard to share it with someone unless you want to put a condom over the head of it. Once I finished with it I pulled the condom off and wiped it down with a towel and warm water.

The box for the Magic Wand had images of people using it as a muscle massager. Due to this, it makes the box appear to be discreet and safe to store in view of people.

So I really like this one. Actually I don't usually get much from clitoral stimulation, but this really did the trick. It had just the right kind of vibrations and so much power. I bought a plug-in lamp dimmer (the type you can find in Home Depot or Lowes) and used that as a speed control for the wand and it worked wonderfully.
