This is an orgasm enhancing gel that is to be applied to the clitoral region. Since it is for the clitoral region, it is best suited for females. Shunga gel worked best for me when I applied it no more than 10 minutes before I had sex, however, everyone is different and it might not work so quickly for some. This product does have glycerin in it, so if you are sensitive to glycerin, it might be best if you avoided overusing this product. As with anything you put on your skin on or around your vagina, check the ingredient label to make sure there aren't going to be any bad reactions from existing allergies. This product contains water, glycerin (used to help add moister to skin), Propylene glycol (a chemical that alters skin structure allowing other chemicals to enter your blood stream quicker), L-Arginine (an amino acid that helps rid the body of ammonia and stimulates the release of insulin), L-Ornithine (also an amino acid, one of the most powerful ones ever studied), H.E.C. (helps maintain the clear appearance of the gel), Turnera aphrodisiaca extract (extracted from an herb known to increase libido, and a natural stimulant), Methyl paraben (a preservative), Propyl paraben (another preservative), Mentha piperita (commonly known as peppermint), Tocopherol (compound similar to vitamin E). Just a note, in addition to glycerin causing infections, parabens are also known to cause reactions, so make sure you test this on your skin before you put it near your lady parts.

Shunga secret garden is a slightly watery but still thick, clear, gel-like liquid. It is not so thick as to stay put right out of the bottle, but it does stay where it is rubbed in or thinly spread. It can be a little stringy as well. It is easy to get the desired amount out because the part where it comes out of the bottle is on the bottom under the twist off cap. We store it tossed in our box of lubes, and it has never leaked at all. After you apply the gel it doesn't feel sticky or greasy, there was just a slightly moist feeling for me. It absorbed quickly, but I didn't feel like I needed to re-apply it.

The smell of this product, for me, was neutral. If I put my nose right up to the bottle then I could faintly smell a sort of crayon wax smell, but there was nothing overpowering or off-putting. I didn't taste this product, because obviously I can't give myself oral, and I am really peculiar about what I put in my mouth. My husband tasted it and he said it has a little bit of a bitter flavor, and it wouldn't be good for oral. He also said there was a slight aftertaste, but it went away quickly.

On the back of the box there are instructions in English, Spanish, and two other languages that I assume are French and German, though I'm not sure since I only speak English and Spanish. If you left this out in the box, it would probably be hard for someone to guess what it was unless they picked it up and read the back or side of the box (assuming that they speak one of the 4 languages on the back). The bottle itself is fairly discreet as well, only if someone is reading what it says is it obvious that it is used for clitoral stimulation. We usually store the bottle in the box it came in on its side in our box of lubes, and it has never leaked. We've also thrown it, as is, in a suitcase and went on a trip with it, so I would say its good for travel. Also, with how discreet the packaging is, you could throw it in with your other health and beauty products and no one would pay it any attention. The bottle is set up with a twist off top and a drip dispenser under that. Unless you are just really good at opening stuff with one hand, it will probably require two for getting into the bottle.

This is a pleasant gel to use, as it is neither too intense or lacking power. It leaves you aroused but not so sensitive that every touch is painful or annoying. It has never made me burn or feel uncomfortable.

I don't think this gel is good for using a personal lube because of the fact that it contains glycerin. If you are prone to yeast infections, or any vaginal infections, be careful not to overuse this product. Nothing dampens the mood like feeling like your whole bottom end got set on fire.

Shunga secret garden provided consistent results for me, working quickly, never leaving me feeling greasy or like I needed to wash it off, and providing me with pleasant, heightened sensations.
