My Secret Garden is No Longer a Secret!

If you're looking for a miracle, look elsewhere. This is NOT a miracle product. It does, however, help you orgasm a little easier and the orgasms are intense and prolonged. I am satisfied with this product, and I can't really complain! Great stuff, Shunga!

Use

Shunga Secret Garden is a great product if you're looking for a quality clitoral enhancing gel. Although it is not a "miracle product," it does the job far better than any product I have tried in the past. It is infused with peppermint, in which I absolutely love - but it isn't too intense, so it doesn't put me in pain at all. I'm actually quite sensitive, and this product fit me just right as you apply it in very small amounts, building up over time.

Shunga instructs to apply a pea sized amount to the finger, and rub on to the clitoris in circular motions. If it is too intense, Shunga instructs one to stop use and wash it off. If it isn't working, Shunga instructs you to slowly apply a little bit more. Shunga actually states that it can take up to 3 days for this product to be felt at all, so patience is key with some women. I will admit that near the 4th day I started to really like this stuff, when on the first day I deemed it useless because it could hardly be felt.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Propylene glycol, L-Arginine, L-Ornithine, H.E.C., Turnera aphrodisiaca extract, Methyl paraben, Propyl paraben, Mentha piperita, Tocopherol.

WARNINGS: You cannot use this product if you have an STD, in specifics, genital herpes. There are ingredients in this gel that cause outbreaks and can worsen your condition. You also should not use this product if you are pregnant. This product does contain two parabens and Glycerine, as you can see above, which have been linked to UTI's, yeast infections, and other health issues. If you are usually sensitive to these ingredients, I would not use this product.

Personal Note: I am usually EXTREMELY sensitive to products with Glycerine. This product did not give me any problems at all, and I suppose it's because only a small amount is needed. Nonetheless, that just goes to show that it might be one of the safer Glycerine products out there.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Shunga refers to this as a cream, when it is really more of a gel. It is completely clear, and if I had to compare it to something, I would say a watered down hair gel or a lubricant like Pink Water. It doesn't even have the slightest of color, so cream is the wrong word! I don't know if this matters to anyone, but I thought I would mention it.

If I were to twist the cap off, and hold the bottle of Secret Garden upside down, it would slowly start to drip out. It is very thin, like Pink Water lubricant, so you can imagine it is watery. This was a problem for me when it comes to application, only because it doesn't stay in place on the finger. It seems like more gets soaked up by my fingertips than my clitoris! So I actually had to apply it twice to feel satisfied with myself... maybe I'm just OCD!

It is very easy to pour, nonetheless. I'm sure this is obvious from what I've said already. It does feel a tad greasy, but not at all sticky. Maybe "silky" would be a better word. If someone squirted a good amount of this into my hands, I would honest mistake it for some sort of lubricant. I did notice that when left on my finger for too long (I decided to be stupid and put some on my finger before I took my pants off...) it dried quickly and got sticky. So that is the only exception to this product being sticky. However, it still worked well and with a little rubbing I was able to make it work.

Helpful Hint: Be NAKED before you put this on!

Taste / Aroma

The aroma of this product is peppermint. It isn't anything like a cough drop, or pure peppermint essential oil. But it does smell like a peppermint candy of some sort. I really liked that, as some clitoral stimulating gels smell awful. It just smells like a little bit of peppermint - and ONLY peppermint. There are no "side smells" tagging along with the peppermint.

Aside from the aroma, there is little to no taste to this product. Upon having oral sex with my husband, he said he couldn't even taste this stuff, but rather, he could smell it. For that, he was a little disappointed because he just loves peppermint as much as I do. He was really hoping for some sort of peppermint candy flavor!

Performance

The product, at first, did not work - or so I thought. After the first use it slowly intensified, and on the 4th day (and 4th use) I could really feel it. So it takes patience for some people. It's funny because I've always been so sensitive to these types of products! Once the product is applied (now, after the 4th use) the effects last well up to 3 hours. Even after our sessions are over my clit is still throbbing with excitement. It's hard to sleep!

I would say that this works well, but it's not a miracle product. It did bring me to orgasm a tad bit easier, but it didn't make me orgasm without working at all. I still had to put in the work; tensing up my legs, playing with my clitoris, letting my husband give me oral. It's not a product that is just going to make it "happen" for you. So if you're one of those women who has never had an orgasm, don't get your hopes up that this will do the trick. Same for you men who are hoping to find a product to help your wife orgasm.

Secret Garden by Shunga cleans up quite easily. It does dry and leave some spots on sheets, just like semen or some lubricants would. However, after a wash it easily comes out and no stains or discoloration occurs. It also washes off the body easily, if needed. But take note, once it's rubbed in, it's rubbed in. You may want to wait an hour or so before washing because I am really sensitive and when I apply water I get a really cold sensation on my clit! Not a good one, either!

If I had to choose what I didn't like about this product, it's that you only get a small bottle of it! Even though you're only using a pea sized amount, there still isn't too much. This bottle could easily be gone in a month, and probably will.

Packaging

Shunga Secret Garden Arousal Cream comes in a very cute, jewelry box-style container with the face of a Japanese woman on the front. It's the same type of woman on all the other Shunga product boxes/bottles. I really thought it was cute so I couldn't throw it away. The front only says Shung, and the product description and all that good stuff is listed on the sides and on the back of the box.

There are users instructions inside the box, and they are helpful so be sure to read them through. They aren't very long, but it definitely gives you good information on usage and what to do if you have a bad reaction to the product. You even get a mini catalog with other Shunga products. All Shunga products come with this catalog. However, it's a lot smaller since it has to be folded into such a small box.

I would say that the bottle alone (you can see it on the product page) or the bottle in the box are both suitable for travel. They are so small it could be kept in one's pocket, purse, luggage, etc. with no problem at all. Plus, you really have to pick it all up and examine it closely to even know what it is. You're safe as far as this product goes.

Experience

My experience with this gel has been a good one. Although it didn't make me orgasm without even trying, like I had hoped it would, it made me orgasm easier. It definitely enhanced arousal and over time it's just getting better and better. Orgasms are stronger and deeper, and in my opinion they even last longer when using this gel (or "cream" ).

My partner doesn't mind this stuff a bit, and it doesn't interfere with oral sex or sex at all. He can't really taste a thing, and the smell is quite pleasant so it doesn't matter much to him. He does wish it was flavored, but we can't all have what we want!
Follow-up commentary
I still love this stuff. It's started to work better and better as time as gone on and I'm so glad that something has actually lived up to it's name and has done something that it is supposed to/advertised to do!
