Astroglide glyverin and paraben free lubricant is a lubricant. Lubricants are for vaginal or anal sex, as well as masturbation. They decrease the amount of friction, which adds pleasure and decreases the risk of any damage to the tissue (especially in anal sex). This is a water based lubricant, which means it is compatible with all toys.

This product in my opinion is best for vaginal sex and masturbation. I have attempted to use it for anal sex and the formula is thinner and it does not tend to provide the lubrication I need. I find KY Jelly which is a lot thicker works a lot better. But it you reapplied frequently it might work.

This toy is paraben and glycerin free. I want to take a moment to explain what parabens are though. Parabens are a compound that prevents bacteria from growing. This is very important in a water based product, but bacteria love wet environments. If you are not allergic to parabens, then parabens are a good thing, because you would not want to stick bacteria infested lubricant into your vagina. That being said there are other preservatives that can be used. And I am almost certain this product uses a different preservative which would be polyquaternium 15 from looking at the ingredients. So if you know you are allergic to parabens this is a good product to try out. But you still might be allergic to the preservative.

Glycerin is a compound that retains water. What is basically does is make a lubricant thicker. So when you remove glycerin you get a different feeling product. Glycerin is a very safe compound. It is used in loads of products and has passed FDA safety standards, but again some people are allergic to it. This product provides you with a lubricant if you are allergic to it.

The point I want to make is that parabens and glycerin are not inherently bad things. Parabens prevent bacteria from growing. Glycerin can add thickness that you might need for anal sex. These are perfectly fine compounds, unless you are allergic then you should obviously avoid them.

This product feels quite nice. It is very smooth and when you have sex with it, it feels pleasant. It is a very thin lubricant so it feels quite similar to vaginal secretions. It does feel unique compared to silicone and thicker water based lubricants. Silicone feels more silky, and thicker water based lubricants feel well thicker. Overall I found it to provide a pleasant experience.

As I just mentioned this is a very thin lubricant. If you pour it into your hand and hold it straight up and down the lubricant will drip down your hand. This tends to make it a little bit messier, because when applying it to toys or your penis it tends to drip onto the bed a bit. However this lubricant does not dry very sticky and is easy to wash off, so that is really not much of a problem. Even though it drips you still get a layer of lube where you wanted.

The lubricant does not feel sticky or greasy when you initially apply it, but it does get a bit sticky when it dries. I found it to be less sticky than some of the other lubricants I have bought in the past. KY Jelly for example dries a lot more sticky.

In terms of pouring this lubricant it comes out of the bottle very easily. As I mentioned though because it is so thin and so easy to pour occasionally you get more than you want and it drips a little bit.

I found this product to have no real smell to it. It smells a bit like water with a little hint of something else that is hard to describe. The aroma is very faint to non-existent at times.

When you taste this lubricant I find it has a slightly sweet taste that turns into a bitter taste. It is not an enjoyable taste, but it is not an unpleasant taste. If I give my girlfriend oral after we have used a toy with this lubricant I do notice the change in taste, but do not mind. It is just different.

The product lasts for a decent amount of time. I think around 10-15 minutes is how long it lasts before it starts to get slightly sticky. Overall it felt nice, and works well for silicone toys. I do find it worked for vaginal sex and for masturbation, but that when using it with anal plugs and dildos it was just too thin and that I needed a thicker lubricant. So I would not buy this product if you want to use it for anal sex.

Because this is a water based lubricant you can use it with all your toys which is nice. I really only use it with silicone based toys, because I prefer silicone lubricant and always use it with metal and glass toys.

Both my girlfriend and I found this product to dry slightly sticky and that it was sticky enough to warrant a quick wipe off. It cleans off very easy, so all that is required is a wet washcloth. But it does annoy me if I do no clean myself after using this product.

It also washes out of fabric very easily. I have gotten it on my bed and it cleans out very easily. After I throw my sheets and comforter in the wash there are no signs of the lubricant.

The best part of the lubricant is the texture it has. The worst part is that it is too thin to use for anal sex.

The product is packaged in a small cardboard box that looks similar to the bottle and tells you all the same information. So it is not discreet.

The bottle is nice. It has a snap cap that prevent the lubricant from leaking. You can tip the bottle upside down and it will not leak which is nice. The cap dispenses the product decently, however because it is so thin it occasionally lets out a little too much. The cap can easily be opened with hand. You just pop the top with your thumb.

The main special feature of this product is that it is glycerin and paraben free. I discussed that earlier in my review so I wont again. Here are the list of ingredients though

The butylene, xylitol, and propylene are all substances that hold water and are basically the replacement for glycerin.
